I’ve been reading this blog for a few years now but it’s kind of weird to see a picture taken on my block. Some crazy fashionistas around NYU and The New School indeed.
She look dangerous in her all black attire. It makes me think of Jay-z’s Run this Town
All black everything
Black cards, black cars
All black everything
And our girls are blackbirds
Ridin’ with they dillingers
Sublime! It’s a simple outfit, but the strong pose, the way her skirt falls to the floor, and those great shades make her seem has she’s emerging from the concrete,
I love the black on black – great silhouette.
The t-shirt sleeve length, the leather vest and the maxi skirt – what a perfectly fabulous combination.
The metallic clutch is agreat contrast.
She looks amazing!
Absolutely love the skirt (aw, c’mon, Cece, the hem is the best part!) and long cool silhouette, but am not entirely sure why she appears to be cuddling a small light fixture.
Her sweep-all skirt looks comfortable, yet stunning; it would most likely look different at the end of the day as compared to how it started. But it would have her signature all over it – it might be frayed slightly from her schlepping it around places and may even retain certain odors/stains from the places she chose to visit.
Your very own artpiece in the spirit of Pollock, this could be. Nice.
She looks incredibly stylish and her look is perfect for the woman we all should be. If you get a chance do check out my blog, I have interesting fashion posts you might love to read.
I think you either accidentally or intentionally wanted to capture three styles in one. Whether they are correct within the rule books of Western fashion or not, you have three generations, three styles, three different body types, two sexes, different inspirations and so much swag…ya I had to put that in! Dope stuff Mr. Schuman. Really cool.
What can I say??????My english is not good enough….you as a photographer, you touch perfection….love the shape of her body, the back ground, time has stopped so that you could capture this amazing image!
♥
Also like the 2 background figures – interesting wider-than-usual jeans turn up on right and great straight leg jeans and Freitag-like bag combo on left…
although I agree that it is the hemline that “makes” this an interesting photo/outfit, I also agree with Cece. it’s also just so impractical, not at suited for a rainy city such as mine..
While she may have tried to ‘toughen’ up the lightness of this dress with the leather vest/shirt, in fact the draping and almost ‘lapel’ effect at the bottom of the leather garment further highlights this goth-ethereal look. Gorgeous.
This gives me a kind of Cruella de Ville vibe though it lacks her famous black and white fur spots. So mysterious and edgy. She would absolutely get a second glance had I seen her walking down the street. Chicness.
Cece, she looks great and it’s her choice with the hem. Seriously, “sweeping the sidewalk” is a ridiculous reason to be offended.
zuccotto, I’m feeling much sincerity in those “sycophantic” posts. Yours’ smacks of cynicism and it was published, anyway.
I love her look, until I get to the street sweeping skirt. It makes me think of all of the unmentionables that are on a NYC sidewalk and how she is dragging all of that around with her. Now, if she was in a club, lounge or on a catwalk, I’d think differently. This is when reality and fantasy don’t jive for me.
Such a strong look, everything about her is edgy and tough.. pretty cool! I’ve got a street style blog from Stockholm Sweden and tomorrow I’m starting my new theme, check it out! http://www.johannasthlm.blogspot.com
Ooh. She looks like so elegant and serious. And somehow serpentine, but in the best way possible, of course. If you have ever seen “The Lair of the White Worm” ( Its a pretty awful film) you would see a resemblance to the cool bad chick in there.
