Absolutely love the coat – the color, the fit, the length. Love the pants (jeans?) too – not too skinny, not too wide – just right. Just lose that silly hat.
Was the sunlight that harsh or did you put the settings like that? Either way it looks brilliant, all inky deep shadows. Wow! I love that his outfit matches the colour palette of the background. And his bobble hat set at a rakish angle? Bravo! It’s great that his shoes work so well with the rest of his outfit but I can’t imagine pale green being all that versatile.
I really love the cut of his jeans, and the shoes. Did he just buy everything that very morning? That’s my only quibble – everything looks a little too starchy-new.
it’s very subtle. i live the way the colors of his hat co-ordinate with his shirt just seen beneath that lovely coat. i’m also not sure how much the actual photograph contributes to the style and coolness factor – it’s a great shot.
The shoes! I almost bought a pair like them today, only a women’s version.
I like this guy. He seems friendly, and he’s well dressed, and he is not afraid to wear things that may seem silly, like that cap, but he actually works it in a way that is so intrinsically hip.
love the shoes, dont like jacket, maybe its the lighting of the photograph, but it isnt workin for me, i like how he wears his hat like T.I(rapper), but he is on this website so hes doin something tight.
Great shot! Love the reflection on the road.. I like how everything on the outside is beige, and more colorful inside. I like how minimal and sleek his coat is, his hat is fun and seasonal and matches what he’s wearing under..
I think his bag and jacket are great. And well done for looking so composed with that hat with the bobble. I know I wouldn’t be able to keep a straight face with such a fun hat on.
ha! I bought those shoes too and every time I wear them I can’t decide if they’re the best thing ever or a really bad idea – they always provoke the odd raised eyebrow… they’re dashed comfortable at any rate… I reckon he’s pulling them off pretty well though – maybe I’ll revisit them…
I really love this one! He looks very Scandinavian. I especially like the patterned shirt underneath the clean/simple coat. Love the colour of the shoes too!
By the way, when are you coming to Amsterdam mr. Sartorialist? ;)
The simple combination dark blue jeans with a beige caot combined with matching shoes and bag almost always works. Almost a classic coor combination. Like the litle hint of color from his shirt underneath
Nay, this coat is for naught. While I have sort of an abstract appreciation for the shoe/coat match game(watery butter with watery chartreuse), I cannot find a similar sentiment for the fit of that piece. The scale is all wrong even as the sleeve length is all right.
And I’m perplexed by the bag, which makes this tall man’s hands look delicate.
The jacket totally makes the outfit. It’s so sleek and refreshing and it pulls together the otherwise annoyingly whimsical parts of his outfit into a more sleek and sophisticated whole.
Greetings from Brazil!! Why don´t you come to take some pictures around here? If you could feel how hot is in São Paulo rigth now.. Lovely mini skirts and ligth colorful dresses.. beautiful!
Love the red sweater peeking out from the collar and love the bag.
Like the coat, but it looks more like a spring coat than a winter coat, the light shade I guess. A great shape and length for him.
I also like the beard. It helps him avoid looking too boyish but he still looks youthful.
But the hat looks like when you were 9 and your grandmother knitted you a horrible pompom hat for Christmas and your mother forced you to have your picture taken in it to show Grandma how much you loved it. Not that I’m still bitter.
And what are those shoes? Do I really need a pair of shoes to take me from my sailboat to the bowling alley? And in pea soup green no less?
It could work great if he’d loose that hat. I’m aware it’s coordinated with the shirt but that kind of hat just clashes terribly with the rest of the outfit.
I fancy his bag. And his well done layering. The plaid peeking out of his solid jacket is great. I love the single button peeking out. Also the perfect jean length and his shoes are a beautiful color. The hat is doubtful, but I think he would look too plain without it… everything else about his outfit is subtle, but the hat is just festive. Does this say anything about his personality? In short, divine!
great look. he remains young but not sloppy or unrefined (not that being young means that you automatically either of those things). he looks comfortable and like himself (if that makes sense).
great coat! i used to have a slim-cut cropped mack from jcrew, but i lost a ton of weight and now it just swallows me. what are some other “affordable” brands that carry well-fitted macks like this, sart?
ps – i’m going to new york new years weekend! long shot, but i hope i run into you!
props to this guy for looking grounded and fly at the same time. a lot of guys on sart look like they came out of the house knowing they would be photographed.
I would be VERY surprised if this gent didn’t work for Jack Spade/ The hat, coat (they sell official Macs there), bag and shoes are all apparently from their store/line. I think I recognize him from the shop, in fact.
the shoes are Sperry Top-Sider’s Captains Oxford in Smoked Elk…i thought of buying a pair in the fall, now i’m sure i will (they also have a traditional boat shoe in the same color)
I love the look, the coat is great, I actually went out running to find one though I wouldn’t be able to wear until march or so (too cold here in Madrid)! I also love the quirky touch of the hat.
This is brilliant. The jacket with the shoes is absolutely genius. and the bag?! perfect! as for the multicolored toque? I love how it transforms the ensemble into a casual, more wearable outfit.
I think his Jacket is screaming out 4 back up from another accessory, It looks like a statement in bland ….Not that im going to argue with ones statement, power to him
i like the slim-cut cream rain mac very much, certainly a coat i’d like to own. somehow i like the whole look, albeit a bit too bohemian for me. personally, i wouldn’t wear a beanie with a mac and i don’t really like the chap’s shoes. an outfit that suits him, however.
Swap his shoes for converse all star trainers and that’s the way I dress, I am just shorter and not as sexy : (
He looks rather Margaret Howell to me, however I swear I saw his raincoat in Liberty’s of London over a year ago (with a hefty price tag) by mackintosh

Rainy shots are beautiful: the way the buildings are reflected in the wet road creates such a special effect!
About the outfit, he must be a great character. He has a great posture and I love his plain coat and colorful hat: a combo of serious and fun.
There is something very Christamasy about him. I would say that he is going home to get some sleep after spending all night long helping Santa.

Love the coat. If it is a real Mac, so much the better.
Always in search of the “perfect” bag, this one seems to be holding a lot and looks ok.
Undecided about the shoes. Kind of ordinary, banal even.
Trousers are also not interesting. Am I missing something?
The “touque” is a typical part of winter dressing where it is cold. This one has whimsy.

I like the lighting. His hat reminds me of Stephane from Science of Sleep.

i like the slim-cut cream rain mac very much, certainly a coat i’d like to own. somehow i like the whole look, albeit a bit too bohemian for me. personally, i wouldn’t wear a beanie with a mac and i don’t really like the chap’s shoes. an outfit that suits him, however.

Swap his shoes for converse all star trainers and that’s the way I dress, I am just shorter and not as sexy : (
He looks rather Margaret Howell to me, however I swear I saw his raincoat in Liberty’s of London over a year ago (with a hefty price tag) by mackintosh

Very simple and non-fussy look, it works for him. What bag is that? it’s got that Filson look to it.
