On the Street…Understated, Paris

I really thought this young lady was one of the most stylish I saw during my last visit to Paris.

Simple, chic outfit and great hair! In this period of overdone everything it’s so refreshing to see a little understatement occasionally.

    Maybe a little too understated.

I hear you, John. Certainly can’t find anything to criticize, but here in my “inspiration home”, maybe just the tiniest bit of pop? A soft, sheer scarf, or a battered newsboy cap?. Just a soupçon of her personality would be nice. But, as I said, no criticism warranted ….

The collar on the jacket is marvellous…very Hubert de Givenchy!

Is this the period of overdone everything? I see simplicity everywhere. So much so, I’m getting a bit bored. But she pulls it off well. Not everyone can do this. I couldn’t. I’d look just sad.

The French hit the sweetspot between Anglo rigidity and Italian boldness.
The Holy Trinity of timeless style. Love them All equally.

That’s how most people dress most of the time :-)
Though undoubtedly this young lady is naturally gorgeous which helps quite a bit!

I would suggest a half size larger shoe. Overhanging toes are a pet peeve.

love this photo with a tone of simplicity in a very colonial environment remembering the values of the time so lost today, that’s why so many special details stand out in it

I love her hair and her face. I think the outfit, though, is drab. I think the shoes are frumpy.
