dear Sartorialist, I'm not sure I can explain why, but your lasts Burberry pics gave me a true optimistic feeling for our world. As if your blog was a sociological thermometer adapted for TODAY, NOW. I'm actually living in a very small village in France and I confess I often think about your work when I meet my neighbors (although we don't live in an urban landscape) : what is his (or her) sartorialistic potential? I'm sure your blog contribute to change my sight about this "sample of humanity", and made me feel this optimistic tempo, especially this last Burberry serie. thanks for sharing, and cheers!
By the way, I heard you are coming to Spain??? I had some proposition to do for some fashion thing I am working on… I will email you when I have the details!
A man who knows how to look sharp and dignified.. with little effort too! His look is bold but subtle.. I bet he's a romantic!!! This photo has started my day well! Thanks.
That's what we must call of VINTAGE. It's obvious that it is a very old suit, but he looks amazing (except for the color), plus his expression is so interesting.
"I'd like my work to let the person who wears it be whatever she is" – Haider Ackermann
I think this look could easily have turned out badly, but he pulls it off very well. I really like how the hankerchief and the little detail on the tie both match the rest of the outfit.
So, it is true that so looking guys (or people) are not often? I was surprised in Bordeaux about streets filled with guys in suits with hats and long umbrella's walking with no hurry. Different ages. What ot say – not often can see in the city I leave. Pity, because they are like pilars of this world.
Contrary to popular belief, this does not appear to be a vintage suit. In fact, I saw a similar copper-colored suit and shirt in a suburban "Gatsby" while suit shopping with my son.
BTW, the photo subject has a great resemblance to recent photos of Willie Mays.
BEAUTIFUL. The image, the subject, the light…all of it is amazing. There's so much life in that mans eyes. I would buy that photo and hang it on my wall. Seriously, once I earn enough money I'll get back to you on a few images.
