This is such a beautiful girl and outfit. It reminds me so much of an equally beautiful Michelle Williams on the red carpet I guess a few years ago now, in a yellow dress (?Vera Wang), red lipstick and loose low chignon. She copped a bit of flack but she really opened my eyes to yellow.
Chloe – apropos parasols and umbrellas, they're quite common here in Sydney during summer. Just do it!
Oh my, she's gorgeous! And her outfit could almost win me over to the all-vintage look. I know that's a weird thing for a vintage dealer to say, but I'm more of a mixer (as in vintage/contemporary mix). Thanks for sharing, as usual!
BEAUTIFUL!! This might sound completely redundant to New Yorkers…but WHAT IS THIS EVENT on Governor's Island w/ the swing band and period costumes?! I know you've posted pics from it before, so I'm guessing it's a yearly affair? Would love to know some more about it, as the way your portray it, Sart, it looks like my idea of heaven!
All the best from Montreal! xo Your friendly neighbourhood Seditionaire!
This beautiful girl is a perfect example of how so many of the 'real' people you shoot are so much more interesting and inspiring to look at than bland shapeless models in many fashion magazines. Editor's take note. Fashion NEEDS you and the stylish people you document , Sart!
This is the lovely Kristen Minksy, of the tap dancing duo, the Minsky Sisters! http://www.minskysisters.com ! She IS lovely-inside and out!!
There are a handful of vintage events like this around town…another Governor's Island gig in September…and Wit's End is a fantastic 20s/30s evening on the Bowery ( http://www.clubwitsend.com )…the next one is June 27th! Dances of Vice is another fantastic vintage event- 18th century through Jazz Age fun! ( http://www.dancesofvice.com )
I owned this same parasol and bought in Chinatown NYC ten years ago. It finally ripped so badly I couldn't use it anymore. I now live in San Francisco so don't get to use my parasols very much. They are the best for sunshade.
