what a beautiful photograph! it’s exquisite. The sculptor is so other worldly i feel it would be trite to comment on her clothes, however those prussian blue tights work really well. Wonderful, Sart, thank you.
mmmmm……not sure about this. Almost works, but the elements are not quite right. Definite eastern bloc look to it. Do like the colours though…and her dress/coat. If she were in Paris she would have saved herself with the perfect shoes or boots. The whole image is harmonious and gentle….
i love the way you see Russia! thats not that too much glamourous as we used to think. very interesting to find out ur impression from fashion week, as far as i know, You are visiting that event even without ur camera?
Everything is so harmonious! Something is definitely happening here. The combination of grays and blues of the outfit mimicking the background are very interesting as well as the contrast of her luxurious fur shawl against the dreary chipped walls. Her facial expression and gesture also gives a dark sweet warmth to this photo.
looks very French indeed, just been in Paris so I can tell from what I have seen down there… Adore her petrol-blue tights ; the color comes back in her fur scarf (love the *changeant* effect !)
This is just the sweetest pic, the rich purply grey tones set the mood……very filmic, I love the oddness of her hard square bag against all her softness……Perfect :)
I like the mix of colors they all come together nicely. The black bag makes a good statement against the blue tights but then the shoes bring it all back together.
I like everything about this photo, the composition, the background, the girl and her clothes. It seems like you caught her talking to herself; and understood Russian. ;- )
Love the muted colors; the rose-gray coat and blue-gray stockings. The colors are so harmonious and work very well with her complexion. It’s really beautiful how the colors are repeated in the fur. This is the kind of beauty that mimics the beauty found in nature.
She’s very cute. First impression was that she’d cleaned her brushes on her wrap, my favorite thing is the way the wrap relates to the background. Everything in the shot works beautifully, as if she’s wearing her surroundings or is a part of them. Great photograph.
i love this look. the colors all brought together in the wrap. the blue tights with darker shoes. the fabric on the dress. her bangs. she’s lovely and well put together.
Simply perfect. The pose, the clothes, the colours, tha background, the light, blue, vieolet, grey, a touch of yelow and black…. everything is so soft and pastel, I especially like the sharp and strong lines of her black suitcase, fine contrast!
PERFECT shot, Sart. Just perfect. The framing of her upper half in the archway. The light blue painted brick mimicking the dark blue of the tights. So gorgeous.
And the girl – WOW. I’m so in love. I can just picture her reading with tons of blankets on a Sunday morning.
Sart – question, how did she come to pose like this? Did you suggest anything? I just can’t imagine how someone who hasn’t modeled would have an instinct to pull that wrap up to her mouth – it’s SO PERFECT!
I have been following your blog since May and this photo is my favorite so far. It moves me as art. (The outfit is pretty close to art, too.) THANK YOU.
I love the dark blue colour of her tights, combined with black shoes, and how the shade of her skirt gradually makes the tights look just as black as the shoes are…
Great picture! Mood, attitude, color…starkly muted somewhat. As for the outfit…I like the bottom up…shoe, stockings, bag…but it breaks up with the dress and wrap. A jersey-cloth dress would work but the wrap leaves me wanting something else. Did I say great picture?!
lovely- I like the color of the tights. I am surprised you haven’t photographed more flashy things..I would expect a good amount of gold and bling..am I wrong?
Again a winner! Three for three. What strikes me is how comfortable these Russian dolls look in their skin. It’s beautiful dressing, not over the top. I love them all!
The colors, the shades, the mood, all perfect. Sweet photo and a sweet looking girl – I especially love her shawl, very cozy. And I’m glad to see I’m not the only one doing navy tights and black shoes :)
It’s true, isn’t it? Give a girl a fur to chew on and she’s catnip to a photographer. Still the detailing on her wrap, the tights, and the light blue wall make this more than a gamine shot.
OH! This photo and this woman have a timeless, beguiling Renoir-esque quality. All the more charming to know she is an artiste. LOVE this elegant ensemble, the colors, and will attempt to emulate it tomorrow!
love it! seems to me that individually many of these pieces (including the wall/archway!) would be a little passe but all together paint an amazing portrait. (I want the tights)
