he's got a great look! he's so well accessorized! i'm always impressed with guys who are confident in their style and have fun with it as well. great shot!
this is incredible! there are just too many amazing things going on here. the patterns, glasses, chain, items falling out of the pocket… love the purple with the blue checks. this guy looks awesome. xx
I love this look. The devil is in the details, too, like every other button on the vest being undone. I'm mad about little personal style rules like that.
I remember seeing this gentleman in other pictures you've taken. I appreciate what he is trying to do and I'll commend his attempt at mixing patterns and colors. However, I get the feeling that he is trying WAY too hard. The size of the shirt collar overwhelms the tie and the lapel of the jacket. Ditto for the tie bar that is much too long for the tie. Lastly, there is just WAY too much in his sportcoat's pocket: glasses, 'kerchief, AND leather gloves??? This is Milanese overkill.
Not to be the naysayer but… He looks like every neu-fashion statement thrown in a bowl and tossed. All the ingredients are delicious, but the dish is overwrought.
So much tought into details: the brown velvet vest, the blue of the rough denim and shimmery jacket, the purple silk tie, and the silky red pocket scarf.
Oh, I just love him. What a great combination of everything. Great outfit, great accessories, fantastic eyewear, and an absolutely fabulous smile. The tie goes well with the silk in his pocket. Love the casual, everyday attitude of the gloves in the breast pocket. He owns his style.
Gigantic overkill. Far too much details going on: gold coloured jacket buttons, gold coloured tie bar, gold coloured pocketwatch chain, hankie/glasses/glove, tie and hankey match very poorly, and worst of all the fact that he's sporting a pocket- AND a wristwatch.
This picture and his style are great! I absolutley love this outfit, it almost looks like he is trying to dress vintage with the chain vest, and cap, but yet he brings it up to date with the blazer, color palete and the big glasses. Some things like caps just never go out of style and you can't stop loving them!!
clearly the presence of the pocket watch and wristwatch means that he carefully planned this out… I'd stick with just the pocket watch. very nice and groomed!
this is impeccable. love that only every other button on the vest is buttoned and the ensemble is the perfect blend of warm (browns) and cool (navies) colors.
It's been said, but who needs a pocket watch and a wristwatch? It's the first sign something's wrong. I agree he's seeming to pull it off, because the background of colors and patterns work, but the more you look, the more you begin to ask yourself where could he be possibly going dressed like that–and then it hits you, oh, he's out to be seen. It's hard to take a man seriously who seems to need so much attention. In the end, at least it's endearing. He's young and learning to dress himself; it's like watching a child with fingerpaints.
Well he almost pulls it off but the look is just a little too busy for me. Rather affected. Chain, watch, tie clip, gloves, hankie, another pair of glasses in his pocket, vest, cap…. Slow down fella.
I love the combination of navy and deep purple in the tie. And the Tom Fords look great on him! This sure is a lot of accessories but he makes it work!
The individual elements are nice, especially the tie, but they are thrown together so haphazardly, that they don't work. A classic case of overkill. Two pairs of glasses, two watches, the overstuffed breast pocket . . . This guy is trying way too hard. But at least he's trying.
His pocket looks like a flower with the pocket square becoming the cente of the flower, the glove making the petals and the glasses arm as the stem. Is this on purpose or just a serendipitous accident?
Perhaps he has all those things stuffed in his pockets because he needed a place to keep them? I think using a pocket as a pocket and not just sticking to the job that has been given to it by "fashion" is charming!
The whacked-out improvised pocket "flower" says it all–he's having a LOT of fun with his look. And his smile says that he wants to spread the happy around. Love!
He is the guy! He is prepared for any situation, a show man. If it is getting hot, he can take off his blazer, be more casual or if it's get cold, he close his bottons and be a kind of serious not so serious. Maybe he is an actor or something. Surely, he is an artist.
I unfortunately think this is trying too hard and not really pushing the preppy envelope. I personally think the whole pocket situation is too much and is overwhelming the look. The trend of the nerd glasses is slowly on its way out and its going to be something we look back on in 10 years and ask what we were thinking? A little less detail on this and I think it could work, but the entire look is on the way out.
He looks good, no doubt. Very nice to see a young man with some flavor. That said, there's just too much happening – watch chain, pocket square, gloves, glasses, textures, pattern, shrunken fit, cap, big glasses, crazy collar, large watch… maybe pick three and get some kind of leather messenger bag.
He looks striking, but's all a bit overdone and not natural in any way. Looks more like a stylized getup for an editorial photo shoot rather than a real life outfit. He needs to learn how to edit and not wear everything he thinks is cool in one outting.
I think "the overflow" is kind of the point here…in a similar way that Patricia Field might go OVER the top with her accessories (um, that witch hat, anyone?).
There's a touch of humor in stuffing everything in the pocket…he's "winking" at us.
I'm glad somebody else noticed his "buttonaire" pocket flower. VERY fashion forward. Not only did you not think of it, people, most of you COULDN'T EVEN SEE IT to appreciate his thought!
I disagree with the "trying too hard" train of thought. I find black men seem to have fun with fashion and are able to be peacocks, at times playing with over-the-top with such verve that they just pull it off.
Hence the old addage, "before you leave the house, look at yourself in the mirror and take one thing off". The gloves and pocket square and two pairs of glasses glasses and bracelet and chain and hat lead not to overflow, but overkill… This guy must have started getting dressed at 8 in the morning and not left the house until noon.
I can tell he's really having fun with getting dressed in the morning which is important. Fashion is fun! He could probably lose a few accessories for my taste but the one he could not do without are the Tom Ford glasses. Can't go wrong with those!

Nice idea but too much. The shirt colour os too splayed, the watch chain is ott and he could lose the tie clip. A bit of visual overload really…

I disagree with the "trying too hard" train of thought. I find black men seem to have fun with fashion and are able to be peacocks, at times playing with over-the-top with such verve that they just pull it off.
Lovely pic. Cute guy!

Sorry, he's simply trying too hard. What's with the bling bling and the overstuffed suit pocket?

Cute guy, but trying too hard. Ease up man, you can't (or shouldn't) wear it all at once.

Absolute groover.
10 points for pulling it off, even though he could pull it back a bit. LOVE IT.

I can tell he's really having fun with getting dressed in the morning which is important. Fashion is fun! He could probably lose a few accessories for my taste but the one he could not do without are the Tom Ford glasses. Can't go wrong with those!
