The lines and shading in the walled-in background pulls the viewer towards the subject, and complements the circular patterns and drape of the dress.
Her coquettish smile is the stuff of naughty librarian schoolboy fantasies.
WOW, she really looks like a very chic librarian, the detail of the dress is very playful. I would love it if you checked out my blog, I have interesting fashion posts you might love to read.
I love this shot: really working the library geek chic look.
I’d love to see the dress in its vibrant colour too, and with her catseye sunglasses which are just visible in the other shot. Did she have another pair in her bag? Perhaps these geek chic frames are her version of flats in the handbag – more practical and more modest.
I’d love to see the effect the catseye shades have on the demure quality of this look: contrast is so cool.
Love this little lady, awesome shoes, takes me way back to my elementary days, her face is very young and much more pleasant than my teachers from back then.
Love! This reminds me of what was great about grunge–long rayon dresses, classic old shoes & boots worn with anything & everything, geeky chic (before it got hipsterfied). And her expression is priceless.
The lovely see thru dress, and that tidy adorable bun! And the glasses, and the expression, and the lovely vintage feel of the photo!!!!!!! All excellent.

I agree that a different shoe – maybe a boot? – would make this outfit less costumey. Seems a bit contrived as is. Lovely photo though.

Wow. This is a fabulous dress. The sheer overlay on top adds a sexiness to the “librarian” look, especially when contrasted with the length.
Love it.
Check our my shoot of designer Caycee Black–today’s piece is a study in contrast as well.
