I see what you mean by the first one being unique….. but don’t really agree with the rest. Those haircuts are pretty popular in most american cities. I can’t think of a girlfriend that hasn’t fallen for getting bangs at least once in the past 4 years… and now I’m wondering what kind of haircut the last girl has since it’s up in a bun. They are all beautiful shots but not unique hairstyles (to me).

A good haircut makes a hell of a difference. I like the 1st style. Very edgy and and the 2nd live the chunky bangs.

But it really seems like those girls are just naturally blessed with beautiful hair…I know that no matter what I do to my hair (and I definitely fail at styling it, even in a bun) it perpetually looks the same, and that full thick bangs and curls look is covetable but unattainable for straight, thick Asian hair.

Honestly I am suprised with these photo shoots because in Istanbul women unfortunately look like the same!These are exceptions and really great!
I am also in fashion business and hope to see unique styles rather than copies….

The second pic with the bangs is the pic that inspired me to cut bangs (which I no longer have) But I love it!

i must say I find it a little far-fetched to compare a city of 140,000 and a city of 10,000,000 by calling them both “not a major fashion city”. I don’t know about Savannah, but there are a lot of stylish people in Istanbul, so getting an out-of-the-ordinary haircut isn’t something that would stand out as statement more than it would in ny, paris or milan.

YEA, I don’t “get” why you’d choose the last girl as one with a particularly interesting cut, or style even. It’s a low messy bun…probably one of the top 5 most normal things to do with long hair. Also, it might be interesting for you to consider the demographic of the bottom three–these are students, there’s a 40% chance that any of them actually pay for haircuts. I’ve given myself a blunt bang before just because it’s easy to maintain yourself, and the rest of your hair can go to shit because everyone is paying attention to your bangs. I think the DIY spirit adds a little something, and it would’ve been interesting to know who cut their hair.

This may be my limited experience but…
Savannah is a fashion powerhouse of a city. SCAD (spelling?) Is one of the best fashion/design schools in the world

I really like the first hair cut but I don’t understand why you would call Istanbul “not a major fashion city”. It may not have a big international fair or anything, but Istanbul’s women and men pay a lot of attention to fashion, their looks and their creativity. Sure, there are a few dominant looks, but the city has such a diverse subculture scene that you can find so many fashionable women, depending on where you go! I’ve never been to Savannah but I really don’t think you can compare it (wonderful as it probably is) to one of Europe’s major metropoles and that has developed so much over the last couple of years!

@ Claudia. There is nothing wrong in the opinion that Istanbul is not a high fashion city. That really isn’t an insult. That does not in any way imply that they don’t have many different cultures. They do. So does every city in the world. And in no way does that mean they all look the same. What it does mean is that in Scotts opinion( which I tend to see as a very educated one on the subject) they do not have as a high fashion sensibility as New York, or Paris. Of course understandably this is Scott’s opinion. Not a fact. I personally appreciate an honest opinion, but you may not.
Its kind of funny that you make the point that everyone in Istanbul is different, but then yourself generalize and say that people in Istanbul all pay attention to fashion.
As far as the haircuts go; You misunderstand. These girls are NOT FROM ISTANBUL, except for the first one!!!! The rest are from the United States. He is talking about these particular girls as a group that spends their money and effort more on hair then clothing. He is not saying it about the people of Istanbul.

I don’t live in a major fashion city myself. And my city has many cultures, and cultural influences. 8 million people( actually around 17 mil if you look at two nearby cities) who all look different from each other. So I know its perfectly unrelated. The red haired girls in pic 3, and 4 are from Savannah, Georgia. And the second picture( the one I like best) is from Boston. The top picture is the one from Istanbul, I think.

Love the second picture! The waves in her hair and her coloring is beautiful. There is something about her dusty bare feet that is so endearing to me and makes me think of quiet summer afternoons I spent with my grandmother.

That’s a lot of Bangs. I am starting to feel really good about my decision to kep my bangs this winter. So much of the hair structure has to do with the awesome facial structures on these girls. Rocking bangs is not as easy for girls with super round faces. A little oval is necessary, like the girls in these photos. The red head is my favorite.

I love the first style the best. That side poof of curls is something many would be afraid to try, but it creates a look that is truly unforgettable.
