I feel like I “want” to like this outfit … but I don’t. The “Annie Hall” styling is all there, but the pleated pants look too baggy and I’m not fond of the way the colours are put together.
The photo itself – the backdrop, lighting, the shadows – lovely.
oh how i love the texture in this photograph. there is an abundance of warmth. not to mention, i am coveting those trousers. tres chic. http://cestsibon-kristen.blogspot.com/
Some would object to mixing black and brown but that is the problem with the classicists! They object to most things.
Otherwise: truly excellent light, not very Sartorialistic (what happened to the whitewashed background?) but excellent!
I am completely inspired by this photo and this outfit… to be cold and in a coat and pants cut similar to coats and pairs of pants that my mother owns (where the tags say “Burberry’s” and not “Burberry” — items from the 80s and early 90s). I will definitely be revisiting this one, so nostalgic.
I remember, I was there when you took this photo! :)

that hat is way too small – especially with that coat. And with those high wasted trousers, rolled up? It’s a complete mess, totally unflattering. Don’t just bow because the Sartorialist posts it, people.
