i don’t want to put this in a negative way..but this style just makes me think of something stupid as “homeless chic” http://bellaconscience.blogspot.com
Europeans just have a natural way of being stylish. It’s encapsuled in all the little everday things they do. This looks like a fascinating conversation.
Those italian men again ! “Sprezzatura” which means :
“Studied carelessness” or “elegance decontractee.”
This definition applies to them perfectly, beautifully.
Beautiful shot. I wonder what they are talking about — there’s a story there I know. And, I notice that the Italian men wear socks when its cold! Just sayin’……
The body language and the faces of Sig. Squarzi and the younger man make it look like something shockingly terrible and sad has happened here. You’ve captured what looks like a very personal moment between these two people. It’s almost uncomfortable to look at. I can’t even really see what they’re wearing. There’s so much emotion they may as well be naked. Hope everything is ok…
OMG! I have a pair of fifteen year old suede Cole Haan brogans just like then man on the right. I am going to go and dig them out of my closet right now. Never thought to pair them with dark brown socks? Leave it to those stylish Italians.
Everyone commented on the jackets & scarf, which are great, but what I found most interesting is how different this picture feels if you cut out the pants & shoes. It changes their style & the dynamics of the conversation they’re having.
I am as old (if not older!) as the gent on the right and the picture is an inspiration for me and my generation. I wear what I feel good in and not what others think I should wear!! Brilliant picture
I absoloutely love this look, the layering and tones are fantastic, but I think what give this picture its authenticity, as such, is his age-if a younger guy was wearing this it would still be fantastic but feel maybe more superficial, created for the fashion image, but this is completely his style, which just makes it so much better. This is also such a good unisex look.
The man on the right has weird hair (Kramer) and looks too fussy. If he moves, that coat is falling off his shoulder… and his socks …uh uh. Just because they’re Italian doesn’t mean they are instantly amazing… in my book:)
Of course being from Italy or any other country doesn’t make anyone instantly amazing! Thinking that would be dumb. Equally dumb would be to criticize “just because”, without taking context into consideration.
They both have their coats resting on their shoulders, they both are standing still and the young man on the left is lighting a cigarette. This looks like it’s been shot during a break, they probably covered themselves just for a few minutes, something a lot of people do when out for a smoke.
Btw, the gentleman on the right is holding his coat on his right shoulder with his right arm, so even if he moves around a bit it won’t fall off. I do this all the time, just because you don’t doesn’t mean it doesn’t work.

Of course being from Italy or any other country doesn’t make anyone instantly amazing! Thinking that would be dumb. Equally dumb would be to criticize “just because”, without taking context into consideration.
