Talk about body language! His arms crossed across his chest indicate a boundary between the two. That he's "not" interested, yet the bitting of the lower lip….complete Oh and she's wearing a lovey watch wonder who makes it.

    Klever :D

He is Matteo Marzotto, former Ad of Valentino. A very charming and always well dressed guy.

The watch is a Toy watch.

Defensive, as it's media, but warming to the interrogation … :)

How the tie echoes the shirt – well executed. But a shade lighter with the jacket: this navy v black combo doesn't click.

Great combination of fabric, colour and patterns. I want that suit.

I'd prefer a monochromatic tie to go with that shirt.

Ha, what a catch ! Le charmeur en flagrant délit. Great pic !

    March 19, 2010 at 10:13 am

Oh dear! I can see why this is visually very arresting but…no. For me, not a charmer. More… Patrick Bateman…complete with attention to sartorial detail.

His suit is such a crisp blue that it pops from the screen (against the neutral background! Her watch is kinda cool (what kind is it, anyone know?). Great color symphony with his suit, shirt and tie.

Is he blushing? He might have been posed a question that he did not want to answer. Great picture, Sart.

    March 19, 2010 at 11:08 am

biting his lip, and his look like he's gonna eat her right now, makes him a real charmer…Don't really lik his tie-shirt combination but the pic itself shows the personality, good catch!

this shot captures exactly what I love about this blog. It´s not just well dressed people, it´s well dressed people photographed it a brief but yet incredibly interesting moment. it´s like every single shot tells a story about the person in it. and the fact that there is nothing written about where they get their clothes from or what exactly was going on in that particualer moment makes it so easy to make up your own little story
    (i hope that made sense)

  39. viejecita

    March 19, 2010 at 1:41 pm

Which is more of a charmer :
This guy, focussed on the girl he has in front?, or
The other day's Vespa guy, smiling at the whole world?

I can't make up my mind which of them I like best.

Love the body language. Defensively charming.

  41. Alastrina

    March 19, 2010 at 2:12 pm

Matteo Marzotto is such a handsome man. What's best, he has a sophisticated style that is charming within itself. I've loved him since the Valentino film.

How do Italian men look so naturally elegant? A charmer in every sense.

  43. GiGi

What is it about a man biting his lower lip that drives a girl insane? Plus, he looks fabulous!

  45. Anonymous

I took this a totally different way.
Isn't the charmer the girl with the microphone?
Isn't the girl with the microphone Garance?

    Oh the intrigue!!!!

    March 19, 2010 at 3:27 pm

Matteo Marzotto wasn't painted in such a good light in the Valentino film. However, what I got from the film is the filmmaker's bias after falling in love with Valentino the man and Valentino the house. I'd be curious to see how a man like MM, capable of such great style and modernity lends his fashion and style stuff to Valentino. I think he'd do well.

ohmygosh why does he look so..familiar? this is gonna drive me crazy!

    March 19, 2010 at 4:20 pm

He looks like a charmer for sure and he does look very familiar as other people have said. I love the way you captured his teeth biting into his lower lip.

    March 19, 2010 at 5:18 pm

I don't get the comments about the 'closed' body language just because one has one's arms crossed. I stand like that all the time – more comfortable for me – and I'm not closed at all. It's just a preference.
He is gorgeous!!! Love the blog! I print out many of the pics as inspiration.

molto bold statement, the jacket almost overpowers the tie / shirt statement, yet his pose and emotions carry him. His arms might be making a wall, it's actually more like a challenge to the lady, his eyes are challenging her to seduce him.

Matteo Marzotto, my sartorial GOD! I wish there was a blog solely devoted to him. He is magnificent.

I don't like her watch. The design of this kind of watches is stolen from Rolex and other big brands.

I've just searched for Mateo Marzotto on the net, and just came to the following conclusion: you really are a great photographer, an artist…you make this shot of him in a way that he looks much better than he looked in all other photos I saw.

Love the mixing of stripes. First, it was mixing black and navy, now mixing patterns. What’s fashion rule will we break next?

Excuse me while I look for my jaw as it just dropped to the floor and rolled across the room.

I was in Paris with a friend this past week (looking chic just in case we ran into Mr. Schuman… sadly that did not happen, haha) and my friend and I were awed by all the men who looked so sharp running around the city. I need to move to Europe :D
