I love how the belt mimics the shirt and jacket combo. His lapel pin and eyewear surprisingly anchor the entire look. The crisp white pocket square and checkerboard tie are simply because he can…Look at him.

I could just rave about this pic forever. When I quickly glanced at the headline, I thought I read, “Texas” (instead of “texture”) and I thought, “WHAT? No man in Texas could dress THIS sophisticatedly!” (No offense intended to Texans.)
The fit. The Stanley Tucci-esque glasses, the TIE, somehow complementing, and not competing with, the belt; the pocket square …. AAAHHH. If only Canadian men could dress half this good.

Love the color of the jacket. It bends the rules almost to the breaking point and shouts ‘style’ rather than ‘fashion’.
It takes a certain kind of self-confidence to do that, and this man certainly seems to have it.

really need to know what his shoes look like to determine if that belt is a bold or no….but the combination looks great w/out the tie.
i’m not a smoker, and it is a foul habit, but the predictable anti-smoking self-righteous snarkiness whenever one of your subjects has a cig in hand is tiresome and pointless. The photo subject is likely not reading this and probably doesn’t give an owl’s nest what we think.
the snarks should just take a deep smoke free breath and let it go.

The belt really does not complement the rest of the clothes. The tones aren’t right with the blue and red and the scale is off in relation to the checks in the tie.

“The scale is off in relation to the checks” ??? HAha!!! Thats a funny one. Don’t try to justify your opinion. Thats all you have when it comes to fashion. Its not like we strive to follow the golden rule of proportions like some long dead and correctly forgotten Greek thinkers. He looks good. I generally hate blue/navy suits, but this has spark. Very dapper.

Please don’t crucify me for voicing my opinion here: The braided belt is a bold choice, but it does not go with the rest of his garb. And the pants…(a) they are hiked up to his navel, and (b) they look too baggy. I like the tie, though.

For goodness’ sake. We’re commenting on a guy’s belt, which hardly matters in the scheme of it ALL. So we can surely comment on his cigarette, which is an ever-present accessory for smokers.

They’re long dead but I would argue it would be incorrect to forget them. There were some fine thinkers back then, with names like Pythagoras and Euclid.
As for proportion in style and fashion, I would also argue that it is important, in fact, very important. The “golden ratio” is also present in nature and not forgettable.
