picture tells a million world, its very paris like, and i reli like the checked pattern on the tailored blazer, oh and the cigarette makes her more Parisian… http://www.therawpower.blogspot.com
love the hat and the rising smoke. it looks a bit like something transplanted from an old western movie… but a chic modern version… where people ride silver vespas instead of horses. xx
very severe look. the hat competing with her hair, as the hat has a masculine feel to it. like the suit and would love to see the jacket paired with jeans or navy velvet trousers.
her hair is beautiful, but needs a good dose of conditioner.
She's looks like she's from an Agatha Christie book, it's a story like shoot love love love it! I love the hat and the navy blazer ps: I like the look in her eye =)
There's something Harry Potterish about that hat and suit, like she could be holding a magic wand instead of a cigarette. Or she might be reading the future in the cigarette smoke. She could be J.K. Rowling's French sister. Or a sorcerer. But friendly or evil? It's one of those ambiguous looks they give to a character that could be either.. I really like it.
This is a nice plaid, not too Scottish looking. I like the double vent in the back of the jacket as well. I'm not sure about the hat though, it makes it look a little wild west for my taste.
Bertolucci…Last Tango in Paris. I like the silver machines in the background. I agree with the above comment, and chunky braid with a navy blue ribbon would be a little more oo la la, non????
Thank Goodness! Finally someone stylish! She's not wearing the latest and greatest designer lable with the "it" bag. She's her own woman and she has her own style.
Love the blue windowpane suit. Looks like a heavier weight wool. I want the man version. I'd wear it with a grid checked shirt, a polka dot tie, and a paisley pocket square. All in blue a la Beau Brummel, but with brown suede, heavily tooled brogues.
I think those pants don't suit her. But at the end it's not about "putting" something, anything on your skin. I think it's about making your own measure.
Intriguing photo. I've got no idea of her age Great hair colour … maybe she's a swimmer and that's why it's a bit dry. She looks fit … if only she didn't smoke. Kills it for me.
I'd be interested to see her from the front, to see what she's wearing with that windowpane check pantsuit. She doesn't look polished enough to be French, my bet is Enlish or American.
i love this portrait. i can almost feel what she is thinking about: the next day board meeting, her daughter's new boyfriend, her next weekend in Aspen…
Cool, but also rather ordinary…surely the kind of woman you see in central london all over the place….shame about the cigarette too…not so cool, all in all.
i love how natural she looks, no makeup, and from this angle, no over the top accessories. it looks almost like an old western. like she just came from a duel
She is Julia MartĂnez from spanish magazine Telva. She's very cool, elegant and a muse for the spanish-fashionistas. She has a very eclectic look and a very punk attitude. I really really adore her.
Her outfit's a bit pretentious to me yet you captured her in a totally different light, the angle really works. I would've loved to seen what's on her feet, though.
I keep looking at the suit, then up at the hat, and expecting it to be a cowboy hat. The silhouettes are so similar, but you would never say that the super-French "floppy hat" and cowboy hats are very alike. I think that's what really gets me. This look is phenomenal. She's got it going on, whatever it is.
Well, if you can't look tailored in Paris, Darling…………
The hat and the suit are a bit of a disconnect…the suit should be of a more formidable material and depth to stand up to the hat…I would have paired that hat with a tailored camel jacket with black accents, for instance…but, at a glance, it looks very chic…
…and almost like Linda McCartney!
They do have the fabulous everything is Paris, don't they?! A great hat can take you very far…and they make a huge difference in staying warm on those chilly days.

I keep looking at the suit, then up at the hat, and expecting it to be a cowboy hat. When she's wearing a suit that's very masculine, I love that she's wearing a very feminine hat with that and not a masculine hat that most women wear.
Fantastic photo as well!

Best,
Reve

She has something in the right jacket pocket. Without that bulk, the jacket would look better. Also, her hair is too long. Otherwise, gorgeous.

Still not used to the sight of a woman in a suit, looking good though, the feature of a hat works well.

Julia Martinez (Telva magazine Stylist chief) is probably one of the most elegant women in Spain. And she's great.
