What a great way to look this summer: so simple and yet so refined.
I love that her shorts aren’t too short and that her top isn’t too tight. Nothing screams in this look and yet the presentation is very strong.
This is a great example of elegance successfully achieved through understatement and flawless execution.

I love this look. What's the current wisdom on wearing something like this to the office? I am much older than this woman (and am fact am the oldest in an office of 23-year-olds) and would wear knee length shorts, yet I hesitate. I could carry it off but I don't want to set off any alarm bells with management. Thoughts?

Really like the the colour combination here, very subtle, understated, and romantic. I think what's great about this ensemble is the fact that it's comfortable and chic at the same time. Having accomplished that really allows one to be not too concious about their appearance and gives way for their personality or charm to shine through. This ensemble is quite Celine-ish too don't you think? :)

Oh, I love this too. Her shorts appear a navy ink colour to me which I think is not used enough in fashion but looks much better than black for many outfits. That dark beige of the belt and roman sandals go perfectly with ink and the dirty peachy pink of the shirt. And yes, the bag is gorgeous.

I like the tan belt.
It would be so helpful if you could note what some of your subjects are wearing (what labels) that way an appreciative viewer can try the look out himself/herself.
I know your photos are not about the labels or the brands, and that the sartorialism is often derived more so from the way in which the subject wears their clothes as opposed to being about the actual labels, but I know that I often find pieces that I would love to own on your subjects. It would be nice to be able to find them.
Just noticed that her belt matches her gladiators, a very nice touch.

You can only wear shorts this long if you have freakishly long legs, which she does :)

The closest thing I could find to this bag is from Roots in Canadahttp://canada.roots.com/SchlepBagwithzipperinTribeLeather/Shoulderbags//18019696,default,pd.html?cgid=WomensLeatherBagsLarge&selectedColor=2402
Roots has great leather and quality. Their bags last for years and get better with use.
Hope this helps.

Just back from five days in a very hot NYC and I can say, this type of outfit really makes the most sense under these conditions. Although the little summer dress is delightful, it loses its charm for the wearer when you pass over a subway grate or a breeze comes whipping up from a building and leaves you staggering along the sidewalk onto your hem for dear life. Pants are too hot and Mini skirts don't leave you feeling terribly protected on a dirty subway car. The shorts serve the same task as a short pencil skirt and are infinitely more comfortable. And thank the lord for gladiator sandals. They're cool, they look put together, they stay on and you can walk for miles in them without feeling blisters or foot pain. So, now we know why she's smiling that beautiful smile that's made us smile too. Great picture.

Yes, she is perfection. I live in the south, and find myself wearing lots of shorts; trying each and every day to come up with something that is interesting, appropriate, sexy, and different. There is only so much you can do when your look is defined by the weather. She has done a great job. Love her sandals and the break up of her chosen colors. I don't have a pair of black shorts, should have purchased some.

This look is so perfect. The top is such a beautiful hue in an equally beautiful fabric, plus the bag is so now.

Very nice to see a Parisian woman in shorts! I lived in Paris for a few months nearly 10 years ago, and since then have been converted to wearing mainly skirts and dresses in the summer. Kudos on showing a chic (and might I add, classic) way to wear shorts!

I guess that reason why some people choose to wear tubes and short shorts is because some places temperature reaches 40C with a 70% humidity. I'm sure they'd love to look like this beautiful lady but the outfit will not last more than 5mins outdoors.

The proportions of her outfit, including the beautiful leather tote and accessories, are spot on. Simple, elegant, sexy. And best of all, that beautiful face and very disarming smile which is the best fashion accessory…Effortless beauty!

Everything about this gorgeous girl works: the hues, the effortlessly elegant shorts and blouse, right down to her bag and sandals is perfection. Sleek minimalism at its best.
