So true :)

This photograph is timeless, so many things are working so perfectly here to make it so. The location, the black and white film, the clothing that the gentleman is wearing…beautiful capture.
July 26, 2013 at 2:01 pm
True. I totally adore this photo.
It also reminds me of a black-and-white portrait of my grandfather.

This says “Paris” way more than the fashionistas strutting the streets in their designer clothing.

For some, a sense of good style never grows old…
July 25, 2013 at 6:25 pm
What I love about this photo is that it is timeless! It might have been taken yesterday, or be a vintage photo!
July 25, 2013 at 6:27 pm
This photo moves me. It brings back so many childhood memories.
July 25, 2013 at 6:40 pm
A proper gentleman! Great photo!
July 25, 2013 at 6:50 pm
shopping bags, particularly plastic bags, ruin more shots
Timeless but for the bag
July 26, 2013 at 11:07 am
The plastic bag makes the photo more authentic as in not “styled”.
July 25, 2013 at 7:04 pm
Classic style, monsieur…but the pimpin’ shoes give you away!
July 26, 2013 at 12:37 am
yes, but for the bar code on the bag, and the plastic trash strewn about, it could be timeless. beautiful shot. oh, and is that a no-smoking sign inside the cafe? also a modern invention, i presume.
Love a man in a suit…and the shoes, perfecto! and really pop in the black & white photo.

I love him

Far more fashionable than the photo I took at the same spot 14 years ago. (see link above or below, not sure where it’ll show up)
Especially the tired and apparently frustrated gentleman in the oversized brown jacket.

Older people in France seem to have a dignity that is missing in the U.S. Perhaps people value their opinions?
