On the Street….Something in the Air, New York

When I was looking at this shot this morning, I remembered a shot I took back in September.

I guess there’s something in the air that smells like American Graffiti?

Baseball jackets are just one of those items that need revisiting! And readapting – who’d have thought to integrate a matching bow tobring out the stripes!?

    Bah-bah-bah-bah, bah-bah-bah-bah, at the hop!

Ah, let’s go to the hop
Let’s go to the hop, (oh baby)
Let’s go to the hop, (oh baby)

You can swing it you groove it
You can really start to move it at the hop

…You’ve also got a return of the ‘school uniform’ kind of look here with the varsity jacket and ribbon. Having gone to an all girls school I can tell you we wore ribbons on and off the field hockey/lacrosse fields to feel more ‘girly’ as part of our sport and school uniforms.

Guess these jackets never go out of style. Reminds me of the black/white jacket (with big school letters on the front) my high school beau wore in 1959. Our school colors were black and white, and the class mascot was the Black Hawk.

The second shot is impeccable; there is such a contrast between the woman/character being portrayed in her current outfit, and the adventure the jacket is her arm is bringing to the shot and narrative of it. Yet, it is still all somewhat complimentary…

Very Grease Lightin’! I sooo love this look, with the pairing of the letterman jacket with fire engine red and sassy, feminine details. Fabulous.

I have been watching Risky Business. Simple. Understated. Preppy. Cool. Innocent. All Amercican. It’s time for a revival. The title of this post and the look reminds me of that.

I love letterman jackets! I just have no idea how to wear them. But this is definitely good. It has that all American youthfulness, but you don’t look like a highschool jock. Nice.

I live just outside of Paris, and everyone at my lycee is wearing those letterman jackets…It’s strange for me, since I come from the United States and I just associate them with the football jocks from my high school in the US. But I guess they’re exotic for the French… It’s interesting seeing classic American through the eyes of foreigners!

The verification information about the Letterman jackets for making sure that it is same as monocle jackets or not. This can be more useful to deciding it…
