Baseball jackets are just one of those items that need revisiting! And readapting – who’d have thought to integrate a matching bow tobring out the stripes!?
…You’ve also got a return of the ‘school uniform’ kind of look here with the varsity jacket and ribbon. Having gone to an all girls school I can tell you we wore ribbons on and off the field hockey/lacrosse fields to feel more ‘girly’ as part of our sport and school uniforms.
Guess these jackets never go out of style. Reminds me of the black/white jacket (with big school letters on the front) my high school beau wore in 1959. Our school colors were black and white, and the class mascot was the Black Hawk.
The second shot is impeccable; there is such a contrast between the woman/character being portrayed in her current outfit, and the adventure the jacket is her arm is bringing to the shot and narrative of it. Yet, it is still all somewhat complimentary…

Very Grease Lightin’! I sooo love this look, with the pairing of the letterman jacket with fire engine red and sassy, feminine details. Fabulous.

I live just outside of Paris, and everyone at my lycee is wearing those letterman jackets…It’s strange for me, since I come from the United States and I just associate them with the football jocks from my high school in the US. But I guess they’re exotic for the French… It’s interesting seeing classic American through the eyes of foreigners!
