I'm in doubt. Is it the fur that makes the legs look better or is it the legs that make the fur look better? Anyway, it's looking good. Cool sweater and nice color combination with the blouse and denim.
I think it's so fabulously honest that you admit to not remembering/noting the name of the street. I took some pictures this summer when I was in Madrid and there are some streets whose names escape me, which lead to futile Google Maps searches.
I quite like the thought behind look as a whole, but these boots are definitely not made for walking: they look like they will (have started to) soak up any moisture in the street, which will ruin the teddy-bear fur.
i know the lady . she is visiting professor for precolumbian rug techniques in brussels. she is brilliant and also very good looking ,comes from a very well to do and good family in lower austria.
So chic, especially as you scan from the messy bun down to the layered off the shoulder top to the unexpected jean mini…..but it starts to lose me in the boots and bag, starts to feel too contrived. It had seemed lovely and effortless up to that point.
There is something insanely Italian about terrible fashion, well done. This look didn't just happen. She thought about it. Was inspired, even. And it's terrible. Army shirt with off-the-shoulder sweater!! That purse! Those shorts!
who would think to make an off the shoulder sweater OVER a shirt? it's still sexy even though she isn't revealing skin. and boots with a mini are always an A+. FABULOUS!
Who would think to put an off the shoulder sweater over a shirt? It's still sexy even though she isn't revealing any skin. And boots with a mini are always an A+. Even the bun with that tint of red peaking through adds to the look. FABULOUS!
The amazing thing about this is that it's essentially a typical west coast girl's uniform (denim mini, furry ugg boots, big Juicy Couture bag, bangles and hoops, loose approximation of a chignon/easy half-ponytail), but she elevates it with the unexpected twist of an off-shoulder sweater over a collared shirt to make it an undeniably European look. I don't love it, but it's brilliant.
I believe this shot, once again, showcases your wonderful appreciation for not only great clothing combination, but beautiful bodily attributes. Her legs are wonderful.
What some of us won't do for fashion/style. Either her well toned legs are chilly or her feet are hot. But she does look striking! And, as always, the photo is gorgeous.
I like the look but love the comments and our opinions on cultural style themes. My first reaction was, you'd only see that look in urban Spain or Mexico City. Thanks for the correct national background, Mr Aubock. And Maryann, yes there is a rule about short skirts. The skirt needs to appear longer than the width of the wearer's hips.
Wow she really hit the balance right on this look with the button down under that slouchy sweater and the shirt denim mini. Those shoes are so fun and fabulous!!!
I like it. Typically you see the nice collared shirt under a more fitted sweater, but pairing it this way gives it a very hipster/casual vibe thats perfect for the cafe.
As other commenters have noted I usually hate this look: jean mini skirt, puffy furry boots, and a big sweater.
But she takes it to another level. With good quality items and a little finesse any look can be great. I would not have thought of this in a million years. Bravo!
What a shot and what legs … Ia m jealous. The boots are a killer too but am I the only one that thinks it's kind of craxy wearing furry boots in rain or soon after rain (the ground is wet as we can see). Or I guess I am getting caught in the details.
Why does 'Penelope Cruz on a stroll' immediately come to mind. The boots are cool, but I don't won't to know how they'll look at the end of the winter (or is this now far too boring a thought?)
So happy to see you were in Madrid! I was going to request some photos from this lovely city but you've already made it here. Many thanks from a Sartorialist follower living in Madrid.
yup, i agree with cherylline… they are not boots.. they are cover-ups or what i call updated warmers… you can buy them in assorted design, colors and material..
Nice drape (on the shoulder) but what interests me the most is those VERY COSY BOOTS! ps: either the weather was good that day or the girl is hot.. I was freezing today around 13th street! brrr.. nice boots ^^
This photo, as all of your photos are, is beautiful. But I don't like the outfit. It is as if she dressed her top half, forgot what she was thinking, and then dressed her bottom half. They seem like two outfits that were never meant to be together. To add to the confusion I feel from seeing this outfit, the skirt looks as if it has unintentionally fallen down. However I do appreciate the beautiful contrast between the oversized, soft-looking jumper and her silver bangles.
I like her! I love Spain's classic + haphazard sense of styling. I think some of you who think she's forgotten to style her bottom half or think she's sloppy haven't seen how many Spaniards dress. Their youth have a slightly retro, grunge, punk look mixed with classic.
Did she fold her boots down to reveal its inner plush lining?
Oh my Oddin! she has a Fabs legs! and i dunno why all gurl in da world follows Rummy's taste of wearing an over sized sweater!!! It's so smart! *i pretty sure *
She's a hot fit chick but the boots are totally impractical. They'd get wet and mucky and she'd make a mess of them in a week. Hang on a min… are they boots? Or warmers? Does she yank them over her runners too?
A little bit of quirk, a little bit of sexy and a whole lot of cool. Awsome girl! Looking forward to seeing more Spaniards here … :o). PS: Am I the only one who sees a nod to Chanel in this?
Oooh… I LOVE her style!!! I love everything, the furry boots, her denim short skirt, her bangles, her bag, her loop-earrings, her pull-over, her shirt, the colours, everything!!!!! VERY TRENDY N STYLISH!!!!!
I agree with old hipster. It looks thrown together, but was obviously planned, and each piece has the potential to be totally awful given a different situation. But it turned out to be overwhelmingly stylish.
I DO LOVE HER STYLE. But here.. where I live (in Lima) , the times i have been with.. stilettos and with anything but my naked legs just like this girl… everyone saw me kind of weird. It's winter, they say, how come u don't use anything else to cover you?
Pd: It was a skirt down to the knees , something on top and those heels. I wasn't cold. But hell I can't understand- this girl from the picture is from Spain and that region is so much colder than ours ! or is it just because they are used to it?
Look at those legs! Not a huge fan of the outfit personally – the shoes remind me of Ugg boots and there aren't enough colours – but this woman has GORGEOUS legs.
I'm not a fan of the boots but the rest is lovely. I guess the best thing about the boots is they bring your eye to her legs and she has legs worth drawing attention to.
That skirt is too cute, but the furry boots look a bit too warm to be worn with that short skirt! They look more like they should be worn with a snow mobile suit!
The miniskirt, to me, ruins the outfit. It looks a little to casual for the boots and the bag. It would look better with pants, but then she wouldn't be able to show off her legs.
Love the way she wears the sweater on dress shirt, gotta give that a try. I've never felt confident wearing oversized nits as I'm not the muscular guy type most gay men seem to prefer, so this is a great way to experiment with proportions, still covering up the body. Thanks for the inspiration!
I believe that these are not boots, but a fury shoe "sock" that is pulled up on a pair od high healed shoes. So however a couple of you mentioned that it's a pair of unpractical boots, it is in fact quite practical as the outer layer would be washable.
the first thing i noticed in this picture were those LEGS! upon review, i love the outfit, too. all things i could never pull off, but this girl makes it work.
Hola! I’ve been following your website for a long time now and finally got the bravery to go ahead and give you a shout out from New Caney Texas! Just wanted to tell you keep up the excellent work!

The side street is named, "Avenue Of Fashionable Models." Silly!
Her boots make it look like it was cold, but shorts speak otherwise.
Long and slender, beautiful no matter what she wears.

There's something I really want to understand.

Love the way she wears the sweater on dress shirt, gotta give that a try. I've never felt confident wearing oversized nits as I'm not the muscular guy type most gay men seem to prefer, so this is a great way to experiment with proportions, still covering up the body. Thanks for the inspiration!

I believe that these are not boots, but a fury shoe "sock" that is pulled up on a pair od high healed shoes. So however a couple of you mentioned that it's a pair of unpractical boots, it is in fact quite practical as the outer layer would be washable.
