It's amazing how the woman in shorts makes a completely casual outfit look so stylish. The khaki shorts fade into the background as the dances among the red-blue sweater, red shoes, blue bag and then the surprise edge of the silver [?] studded wrist band. Yum!
Oooch! The purple sweater makes me want to get out there and knit (and I wonder what yarn that is…possibly one in my iPhone app on yarn?) Anyhow, I laugh how they're laughing…is possible that sweaters leads to laughs?
I love how they are wearing similar tops (in style, not color obviously), but it seems completely different because one os wearing shorts and one a skirt. It is so interesting how different siblings can be.
These women epitomize the best of Italian fashion, an earthy, comfortable chic with just enough surprise to keep it interesting. Of course…it doesn't hurt that they are gorgeous…
The embracing of big, loose-knit cotton sweaters was one of the best things about the '80s. Nice to see them coming back! And super-nice to see them tucked in or gathered at the waist.
I'm curious about why people say this look isn't seen often in the US, though–to me, the big sweater-shorts combination is a pretty quintessentially American & common summer look, especially at the beach (cf: Michael Kors). Or is that just a New England thing?
Wow, they look so fresh and summery! I love how you can tell they have both been influenced by similar things, as they are related, but developed in individual directions. The colour combinations also look lovely; beige and cool pink/purple and blue. Really works and looks sophisticated for warmer days.
I agree with you, Anonymous@ 12:20 PM, about this being very American looking. They look like they just stepped out of Cambridge or anywhere in New England for that matter. I guess its just a comfortable look people sport everywhere. These ladies do make it look extra super good.
i feel like only in europe would you find looks with such a relaxed feel to them without looking slouchy and messy. i'm envious of the ease with with they take life. lovely women with great style.
someone commented that these girls epitomize italian style – i have to say that i disagree, and that it why i love these photographs so much! to me, italian style is extremely polished, high fashion and black, black black! however, these beautiful sisters are dressed comfortably, and with colour, as though they just threw these separates together! to me, they are rebelling against traditional italian style – making them all the more stylish and cool!
totally italian!!!!!!! I think The most Italian women have this innate skill to be both casual and elegant, 1. even when they are in casual outfit (like in this photo session) they look so stylish!!!!! 2. I can´t imagine how do they look in elegant outfit, just awesome.
i love the way these women have chosen to minimally accessorize their faces. no necklaces, little to no makeup, and very carefree hair. i think this look is such a refreshing step away from the daily pounds of makeup i see on my customers, and shows how beauty can truly shine when you look comfortable in your own skin. let your smile do the talking! :)
I think she's trying to channel Alexa, as do we all, especially here in the uk. I must say, she's pulled it off to a T- at first glance I thought she was the gorgeous ms. Chung.

to me, italian style is extremely polished, high fashion and black, black black!
On the contrary, I think italian style has never been afraid of colour and it can be much more casual than french style, for instance.

i love the way these women have chosen to minimally accessorize their faces. no necklaces, little to no makeup, and very carefree hair. i think this look is such a refreshing step away from the daily pounds of makeup i see on my customers, and shows how beauty can truly shine when you look comfortable in your own skin. let your smile do the talking! :)

I think she's trying to channel Alexa, as do we all, especially here in the uk. I must say, she's pulled it off to a T- at first glance I thought she was the gorgeous ms. Chung.

Wow, loving her outfit in the last picture. Does someone know, where I can find the beautiful skirt and the knit?
