Oh, first of all, excellent portrait! I can sense her happy and flattered smile of being shot by the Sartorialist. I love those little details like her belt and gloves and lamb vest over a suit jacket…!!!!! Really a great find there Scott. Thanks for making my day. It's early morning in Europe now :)
it is interesting that Korea /and Seoul/ is basically so American -oriented with its taste for clothes and has almost none Tokyo influence … Like this lady is more some 'rich New-Yorker' than 'Ginza'- clothes, hair, even body language …
i don't think its sator's job to collect any actual trends but more styles he likes so them both guys are really not what do young men wear in seoul /they are more casual and macho and …blah ;)/ but this pic captures female tastes quite well … thats why its quite easy to guess if shes of korean or japanese origin, both countries women fallow very distinct ways…
She's stylish, beautiful and well-put together. Even a bit edgy.
However, is that really her unique individual style? She's a famous actress, required to project an image of luxury – she's wearing expensive brands that most Koreans can't afford unless they're living in Kangnam and studying abroad in the US, UK or France. She's never going to be caught dead wearing vintage unless it's something by a haute couture house.
Also, Koreans are insanely brand/trend oriented. It looks like Tory Burch is in.
Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed that the Sartorialist has only been photographing Korean celebrities in the most expensive neighborhood of Korea. I really do hope you get the chance to explore Seoul a bit more. Bonne chance!
I've been living in Korea for almost 3 years now and I've definitely realized that people in general are pretty stylish~ I'm glad that you've chosen some great representatives for the city! But I hope that you've had an easy time finding people to photograph because of the freezing weather and all. I'd say you should come every season to see how the style changes :)
I absolutely love her bag and her gloves, they're perfectly fitted to her. She looks beautiful in all black. An the pop of the Tory Burch belt gives a great contrast. Very candid shot as well. She looks completely relaxed.
One of my favorite Korean actresses! Not even because I watch the dramas she acts in, but because she looks so unique compare to all the other plastic-surgery carved actresses. And she doesn't seem to be wearing much makeup. Wow! She's gorgeous!
I love it when you can't quite tell if it's blue or black. I also love that she has the confidence to do this outfit with very little makeup, which really emphasizes her exceptional beauty. Great smile, great look. Elegant and expensive, but fun. Somewhere Tory Burch is doing a happy dance.
I am new to you, Sartorialist. I love her red belt and in the other posting of the stylish gentleman with the fur collared coat, I love the juxtapostion of the his sweat pants with all the formal attire. He has such confidence!
Yes, she is (Lee, Eon-Jeong). Check the tweeter of Scott (@Sartorialist). To me she wasn't familiar so I just googled her name. In Sinsa-Dong and Apgujeong-Dong, if you ran into a random person who looked fabulous, he or she might very possibly be a celeb. The chances are higher than any other places in South Korean. Maybe the two pictures of celebs are the counterexample of lacking boldness or chic amongst "ordinary" people in Seoul. As a Seoulite, I'm not super sad about that. After all, she looks great and I like her overall look.
I love this photo… BEAUTIFUL!! Love the Tory Burch belt! Love the feather trim coat…love the bag..and the GLOVES ARE SICK!! Such a beautiful woman w/great style! Looks like Seoul is doing great things with fashion! Loves it!

she looks great but her style gets thumbs down from me. it just looks like a rich girl shopping on fifth avenue and buying whats hot. HOw ever i do think all 31 yr olds should look this sexy so hats off anyways. I concur w the popular sentiment: can we see some funky koreans and not just the filthy rich celebs? thank you sart peace
The combination of a beautiful face, really great style and an truly beautiful uplifting smile makes for a great shot, you have a totemic image, Scott we look forward to your updates from Seoul make sure you bump into Lee Eon Jeong again!
I read a article about the Sartorialist Korea trip. it said it wasn't street fashion photo shot like what you always do. it was all planned photo shot ON the street. no wonder they were all celebrates/ fashion related people.. I was just a little bit disappointed if it is true.. I love your blog because you really know how to capture beautiful moments at anywhere and from anybody.
Are you sure you're in Korea? She looks like New York, Milan, Paris….could be any metro place, therefore predictable, if gorgeous. What do normal Koreans look like when they express themselves in fashions other than global luxury brands?
Have you gone to Myeongdong in Seoul? It's a pretty cool area. Another place would be Chongdamn near Corso Commo. If you have any questions I write for Dazed and am currently in Seoul. You can email me.
She's a (just a little bit)famous korean model and actor. And much more known as fashion model. I don't remember her name but i saw her in TV series broadcasted in 2009 named IRIS starred Lee Byoung-hyun and Kim Tae-hee. Not all are ordinary person. disappointed just a little. hahaha
I knew she looked familiar for some reason! I've seen her playing small parts in a few korean dramas. And of course you would find fashionable folk in Kangnam- that's where all the rich fashionistas are. ^.^ I love your blog!
