Christopher Bailey worked a similar trouser palette for Burberry’s Prorsum line in his Spring/Summer 2006 offerings. However, he elevated the look with dark brown loafers, a geometric patterned shirt (think Anglomania at the Metropolitan Museum of Art), and a brown leather jacket. I have to admit that I fully support any effective use of color on a guy, particularly when strolling the streets of NYC often feels like wandering around the colorless set of the film “Sin City”.
Like the look, but “vintage?” I love Helmut Lang and fervently hope he resurfaces as an antidote to that annoying Pee Wee Herman look floating being pushed down our throats against all reason right now, but when did Helmut Lang start doing a men’s line? 1992? 1995? If that’s vintage already, I want my Social Security check!
