Agreed, it’s not a perfect combination, but what can you do when it’s 39 degrees outside during your commute to work? This week has led to some strange combinations for me as well, such as open-toed wedges and a skirt with a light fall overcoat today.
Honestly, I think it shows girlhood vs. womanhood. This woman looks mature, with an aura of responsibility. The pigeon-toed look gives an air of childlike, demure cuteness.
I don’t mind the naked leg and a scarf, I think she should have gone for a more delicate scarf to keep it all in balance. And yes, those shoes are marvellous.
pigeon-toed = toes pointed in, like little kids often stand. this woman = toes pointed out, like fully-grown adult often stand. not sure if you were confused about the actual meaning, or just the interpretation….

Certainly a lovely, delicate coat, but it’s difficult to appreciate when it’s coupled with such an overpowering scarf.

I feel like she shouldn’t be wearing open-toe shoes with a coat and scarf…as beautiful as they all are.

I am swooning over this look. And I don’t mind that the scarf looks a bit heavy; the color keeps it “light.”
The shoes!!!!!

This is exactly how everyone in Paris wears their scarf, one end through a loop.

Wondered why the coat in May, then I read the caption.
Lovely coat. Undecided about strappy shoes with the coat, though.
