“If you’re thinking of……bicycling in town” this is how you should look !
I love to see older men and women so well put together, paying attention to details (and the road) like this gentleman. Well done Sir !

So much unconscious old school style. Here is a man who knows what looks good on himself.I wonder if the color combinations are deliberate or he just intuited his outfit.Or maybe his sartorial splendor is an example of what was just normal practice in our culture not so long ago. Bravo Signor.

I looked and looked, but somehow old guys on bikes doesn’t have the same zing as girls on bikes. Sorry. Cool picture, though.

I understand your point but I disagree, I think this gentleman looks fantastic and has great style. I personally love when Scott posts pictures of older people!

Is that the Harris tweed cap I nearly bought last week?

    • Nikolai

      May 30, 2014 at 8:23 pm

Looks too slouchy to be a ‘Harris’. I too tried them on last week in Scotland but found my Yamamoto Comme Des Garcons a better fit with it’s adjustable strap. As an expat Scot, I really wanted the Hebridean version to work for me but alas it wasn’t to be.

This guy is great. Old world and gracious. Kinda reminds me of Bill Cunningham: Old school simplicity.

I find this post so natural and smoothing. Old peeps really would touch your heart and your soul when you still see them on the streets riding bikes and walking around. Thanks for the great pic.

This man looks great!! I wish younger people took the time to dress up the way the older generation used to. I love looking at older pictures of women in their dresses and gloves and men dressed in their suits. Nice to see someone keeping that tradition alive.

Same thing in Japan, I’m always in awe when I see older people dress and imagine them being just as dapper when they were younger.

The older generation has it when it comes to dressing up and too bad that we have lost that. I’ve noticed it in cities like Paris and Rome. On a weekend, the old folks tend to look dapper and decent compared to the young ones. Hats off to them!

I love it when you take photos of men like him :) He looks so true, I could imagine a whole story about him. Men of his generation you picture always have a great elegant style but what I like even more is how their engraved skin and attitudes tell a lot about themselves. It sure is no “papier glacĂ©” picture. (This one particularly has a great atmosphere with the bike … I’d love to be just as good looking and still biking when I’m his age !)
