This looks so much like how my grandfather used to dress. He was the type of man that really didnt care how people looked at him or what they thought, as long as he was looking bright because he knew that atleast someone would get a smile from looking at him :)
amazing… full live I just love the authenticity and the mixture between brown traditionat shades and the life that brings those patterns and colours from scarf and vest… but most of all is unique
I am in love with this. There are so many funny contradictions in his style. The modern reflective sunglasses with the weaved hat and the classic beard. Then the readers around his neck and the waistcoat and the cargo pants and i could go on and on. What it tells me is that this person in incredibly confidant in their own style. It's not bravery at that point, it's their own set of rules.
Another light- and detail-filled success. The cigar and its smoke, the hat, the lenses' reflection, the accessories and different shades of neutral. Great work. So much fun to look at.
Now THAT's style. Skinny, 20-something women in slim pants and high heels don't face much of a challenge. But a man of a certain age who creates a look that is uniquely his own and says "I have lived through at least 4 or 5 decades and you better believe I can rock a bright scarf, beaded glasses and full beard without irony," deserves applause. Four stars my friend. Well played! God I hope men my age learn to do this over the next couple of decades.
This man is Wanni DiFillippo and he owns Il Bisonte. I once got to visit his offices in Florence that are in the carriage houses of a Palace…that he was helping to renovate. Inspiring and intimidating at the same time.
Is this your Halloween posting? Is that ectoplasm forming over his left shoulder?? I know, I know it's smoke. He's quite a character and could appear at my Halloween party anytime.
all of these colors are amazing I recently found your blog while looking for fashion blogs I'm overwhelmed with all the great pictures you have there inspiring
OMG why do I never see people like him when I go to Paris?? Lol. It's cool you find these stylish people there because Paris universe is not made only by stylish people. Actually, If you go downtown you see hundreds of people very bad dressed, except if you go to Rue Saint Honore and a few more.
I saw R. Crumb last night at an event. He lives in France now, and he held forth on the french male.

colorful outfit with colorful attitude. i like the glasses (both), the scarf, the hat, the beard, the cigar…everything.:) i bet he has a very exciting (and colorful) life story to tell. i would LOVE to hear it!
Meh. The hallmark of a beautifully put-together look, for me, is effortlessness. Casual, unstudied. Graceful, exquisite. His outfit is the opposite of unstudied; it looks very deliberate indeed, almost costumey. I'm not a fan.
i like that was posted earlier: "If I get to be this old, this is exactly how I want to look".
and i hope i get courage and will shed off all these 'rules' i set for myself how to look and be dressed "appropriate", when i reach his age! – well, not much left, i'd better hurry! ;-)
i'd love to meet this guy, and have a nice chat tet-a-tet! a bientot!
thanks for great pic! its always nice to see and meet nice, out of ordinary people!
The color variation in this picture is epic. I love the glasses, they are so awesome. My other favorite part, is how you captured the billow of smoke at just the right moment….
my sight was drawn to the glasses. I suppose this is because in his pose: the red scarf create two convergent lines pointing those big blue rounded mirrors.
you can't miss him with that vest and beard! he just screams craftsman/artisan and his il bisonte products are so amazing…love him! he looks so vibrant :)
This could be my husband! French, beard, cigar, hat and clothing that's totally farfelu! I just LOVE him……….what a character. A little too much, though – if he were my husband I'd have suggested he lose the scarf, but hey, why not?
I think that you've photograent beforephed this gent before. Here, the flowered muffler is a little much with the vest and the neckerchief. The rest looks great.
Why does this make me think that Santa Claus was trying to go incognito at Mardi Gras… that must be the cigar and colorfulness that are making me think of mardi gras…Loves it!
It would be fun to be a fly on the wall while he picked out this wardrobe! I swear if he came up to me and said he would draw me naked, I´d drop everything!
This man is INCREDIBLE! One day in the future- my friends and I will evolve into characters such as this magnificent gentleman, and we'll laugh and drink wine on the rooftops of our villas over looking the Siene and everything will be okay in the world. What an inspiration!
next time I am in Paris I would love to run into this man, he seems so interesting! That being said his style is like no other, and I love the splash of colors with the neutral beige its like psychedelic professor meets impressionist archaeologist…I LOVE IT:)
this could be absolutley unappropriate for his age… and it actually turned out really fun. Its nice layered, playful, the scarf looks like ..oh ill borrow this from my wife…. i think he had a good time this day…. ppl dressed up like this make my days brighter and happier…. learn from him ppl….bravo sir!
I thrifted this vest about 6 years ago from a thrift store in a God forsaken town in Romania. Never knew its story but now that i see it here i might take it again out for a stroll! .. Love it <3
This is a guy I would love to get to know. He has an easy style in that he is totally comfortable wearing this and with confidence can pull it off. Why is it many men just get hipper looking than older women. BOOOOO.

This man is INCREDIBLE!
One day in the future- my friends and I will evolve into characters such as this magnificent gentleman, and we'll laugh and drink wine on the rooftops of our villas over looking the Siene and everything will be okay in the world. What an inspiration!

This is a guy I would love to get to know. He has an easy style in that he is totally comfortable wearing this and with confidence can pull it off. Why is it many men just get hipper looking than older women. BOOOOO.
