This looks so much like how my grandfather used to dress. He was the type of man that really didnt care how people looked at him or what they thought, as long as he was looking bright because he knew that atleast someone would get a smile from looking at him :)

What a vision! His stance, his pants, his vest, sunglasses and reading glasses on a chain, his beard, pockets on his jacket, the scarf, etc.
I would do a double take if I saw him while walking down the street.
Also, like the effect of smoke behind him, fitting for his cigar.

I am in love with this. There are so many funny contradictions in his style. The modern reflective sunglasses with the weaved hat and the classic beard. Then the readers around his neck and the waistcoat and the cargo pants and i could go on and on. What it tells me is that this person in incredibly confidant in their own style. It's not bravery at that point, it's their own set of rules.

Now THAT's style. Skinny, 20-something women in slim pants and high heels don't face much of a challenge. But a man of a certain age who creates a look that is uniquely his own and says "I have lived through at least 4 or 5 decades and you better believe I can rock a bright scarf, beaded glasses and full beard without irony," deserves applause. Four stars my friend. Well played! God I hope men my age learn to do this over the next couple of decades.

This man is Wanni DiFillippo and he owns Il Bisonte. I once got to visit his offices in Florence that are in the carriage houses of a Palace…that he was helping to renovate. Inspiring and intimidating at the same time.

I saw R. Crumb last night at an event. He lives in France now, and he held forth on the french male.
This pic is a perfect example of what he was saying. It is the male in France who is the one who is looked at. Even though women get dressed to the nines, it is the male who must be given props or nothing ensues.
I am definitely looking at this guy. What else does he get himself up to?

Meh. The hallmark of a beautifully put-together look, for me, is effortlessness. Casual, unstudied. Graceful, exquisite. His outfit is the opposite of unstudied; it looks very deliberate indeed, almost costumey. I'm not a fan.

this could be absolutley unappropriate for his age… and it actually turned out really fun. Its nice layered, playful, the scarf looks like ..oh ill borrow this from my wife…. i think he had a good time this day…. ppl dressed up like this make my days brighter and happier…. learn from him ppl….bravo sir!

I thrifted this vest about 6 years ago from a thrift store in a God forsaken town in Romania. Never knew its story but now that i see it here i might take it again out for a stroll! .. Love it <3

This is a guy I would love to get to know. He has an easy style in that he is totally comfortable wearing this and with confidence can pull it off. Why is it many men just get hipper looking than older women. BOOOOO.
