I love it when it’s an outfit that couldn’t possibly be put together by a stylist as there’s something that’s not quite…right. And that’s what makes it individual and, paradoxically, very right. Because we’re human and not perfect and natural style reflects this. Imagine if the bag on the right hand and the shoes were taken away or replaced – could render the whole outfit (while stll attractive)
I love the shopping bag as a coordinated accessory. With so many bags out there, it’s not difficult to color coordinate these days what you use to tote your Trader Joe’s purchases. I’ve had so many inexpensive ones given to me over the years. I try to match my coat/shoes/purse to my shopping bag.
Very pretty. But that coat is obviously her guy’s. or else she bought it three sizes too large for her own reasons. Note the shoulders, sleeve length and waist. Still wonderful. I buy guys coats sometimes.
The fantasy in my little head regarding her outfit:
She’s just received a phone call from a sale person at JOSEPH about some super cool pieces that are now back in stock, in very limited quantities—and she wants them all.
She jumps out of bed and throws on a basic top with black skinnies from yesterday and slipped on her espadrilles that she wears around the house (it’s beginning to fray a little in the sole) add a hat and viola! There’s no time to comb the hair.
She’s made it into JOSEPH and now walks back to her flat —then Scott shows up. 0_O
