I’m noticing that you’re showing a lot of women in lengthy blazers-coats. I remember when that was really big in the late 90s. I picked up a blazer then, and I’m glad I held on to it, because with all this inspiration you’re offering, I’m going to rework it with skinny jeans and cute lace ups. Here’s a picture of it, I think it can work: http://natashafatah.blogspot.com/2012/01/tailored-at-tristan-america.html
I really do love the jacket and the bag, but Thoes shoes are incredible. This definitely will be hugely influential on my next outfit; certainly my style. Thank you for the particularly great posts lately! ;)
The only thing i like is the coat.Other than that, the bag reminds me of punished schoolgirls stayin afterclasses some more to write “homework” 10 times on the blackboard. There is nothing elegant about this outfit..i see casual, i see eforttless style..i would have liked to see earrings, or different shoes or a powerfull red lipstick
Beautiful use of one colour throughout – and she is beautiful. I also like the simplicity of this outfit. I’d love to add a yellow scarf or bright coloured shoe …
Something very solid, quiet, and assured about this look that is very appealing.
I love a monochrome look, it does look effortless. What keeps it from being boring though is the change in texture. The pants look like shiny skinny ones, the coat has a nubby texture, and the leather on the purse has a slight texture too. And to balance all that heaviness of the coat is the thick soled Doc Martens. Is this a new way to wear Docs?

Are those the Fall 2012 Prada shoes? I am so in love with all of Prada’s shoes this season. Mixing the espadrille with oxfords and a big rubber sole. So cool.
I always thought that black and dark blue could kill 99% of people, as they do make most of us look boring or under cover. This lady is such a strong personality that she definitely benefits from the combination. The magic is in her shoulder line : the way the black neck of the sweater matches the collar of the coat and the architecture of her body. It does look luxurious even without any gold. Beautiful lady and very interesting to know who is she.
She looks great but just don’t like those shoes – I’m not a fan of lace-ups other than in exceptional circumstances – meaning they look half okay of very long lanky girls. From the ankles up she looks sensational otherwise!
The exaggerated proportions of the overcoat, bag, and shoes make the subject appear delicate – almost like a child dressing in her father’s clothes. The entire effect is very interesting.
Nicole: Flat, platform brogues featured heavily in Prada’s 2011 Autumn/Winter show. Chloe Sevigny also did a version for Opening Ceremony.
I love the shoes!!! Perfection!!! So simple, but so feminine. Its the oversized coat, and those wonderful, wonderful shoes that make this absolute classic perfection. The focus is on her lovely, aristocratic face.
