No doubt about it – the flat comfy shoes create a more elegantlook than the towering heels. Maybe because it does not scream fashion victim and maybe because elegance = ease.
Beautiful look! Does anyone know the brand of the shoes, please?
I think Garance as well as this lovely lady represent the image I have of parisian women. They are incredibly fashionable and beautiful beyond their own understanding.
Rue des Ecoles – it works! With the collar/grey sweater, she kind of looks like a grown-up version of an ecoliere. The shoes and spiky bracelet keep it from looking too sweet…It’s not my style, but I really like it!
Absolutely perfect and sweet. The coat, the shoes All wonderful. Especially as I have a very similar coat. Its still a bit too cold to wear it regularly here. I have had my North Face on the last week and a half. But I am hoping, and they keep on telling us that the weather is going to be warm.
Rue des Ecoles is near two of the top French high schools are situated and where children issued from the French upper class are admitted (but not only if you work really really hard until your brain is burning out). This girl style exactly makes me think of these upper class children.
So fascinating because I really don’t care much for what she is wearing, but there is something about her that is intensely captivating. That look has so much richness in it – there is so much to say.
Are we still wearing navy as we near spring?
Thank you as always for bringing us the best in photos!

The white counterpoints in this photograph/look make it for me… Her large, white hands (almost masculine), give the character layers of complexity… and of course the collar against the navy.
Having looked at your pics for a few years I am more and more convinced that people who create great looks understand the importance of necklines and collars. Many of my favourite ‘on the street’ pictures of yours illustrate this and right here is another case in point. Lovely look.
Something about the proportions and simplicity of line here is absolutely perfect–it reminds me of Shaker furniture. (And I love the spiked bracelet worn as a tiny counter-point.)
this bag is what men require; i covet my wife’s collection of totes and yet there is nothing as stylish and useful for men; the man tote could be the next big thing. it needs to be designed with the lines of a bag like this and maybe 1/4 larger.
The wrist gear says plenty, enough to know you should take a step closer. Look at her lips. And her eyes. The left one wondering something, the right one confirming the wild streak you detected.
Btw. Has anyone noticed the size of the building at the background relative to the size of the girl?? It seems so disproportional if you look at, for instance, the amazing size of the entrance. Like as if people were giants back in these days…
her look is ageless, its amazing how her overall ensemble shares qualities of a young grade school uniform yet a serious classical characteristic with her earrings and handbags…what awesome is that her coat is strictly both
I love the bag…but, I have to wonder just how big are they going to get? Why do we all carry so much? Wouldn’t our lives be easier if we pared down what we need each day? Not to mention-ease the strain on our shoulders, backs, arms and hands…
Subversive Catholic school girl. This is how I used to dress when I was at school, since I had to wear a uniform I could only really express myself with my footwear. This picture is nostalgic for me ;-)
