I’m not into tattoos, but hers looks very cool. The red black theme rocks.

She is a very pretty young woman but these tattoos are terrible. Without them I would really dig her look.

Random, unplanned tattoos just look like something that was done in a prison.

Fantastic! The monochrome t-shirt compliments her hair and skin color so well. I feel she’s actually a bubbly person.

Yeah, she’s owning her look. Not sure what I think of the large number of clearly related tattoos–I’m of the school that embraces each piece of ink’s having its own independent origin and meaning–but she looks great and she clearly loves it, so good on her!

I’m sorry, but imho she indelibly and irrevocably made a statement in her youth that in a few years she might want to admit she’d like to take back but can’t! Is any beautiful young lady’s skin really improved upon by injecting ink into it all over? And yes, I have one tattoo.
I hope this gets posted! And I mean no ill will to anybody’s choices; just wish people think carefully about their choices in permanent body adornment!

Looks like temporary tattoos from little cardboards. Oddly juvenile!

    • westcoasttiger

      October 15, 2013 at 1:35 pm

Her tattoos are youthful decisions carried for life – whether that’s a good thing or not is up to the eye of the beholder and herself; maybe she won’t care what we think. I would have to think an air of sophistication at first glance is out the window unless she favors long sleeves.

Interesting tattoos, not the usual armsleeves. Wonder why she did them like this? I love animal print shirts.

Bravo wolf girl. Demarcating herself on the skin. I find the common assumption that all tattoos are the folly of youth puzzling. Mainstream exposure, but still only a subcultural understanding.

Excellent comment and I totally agree. Wherever there are tattoos so are there the old “you’ll regret them when you’re older” remarks. It’s quite tedious.

It’s interesting how when there is a photo posted here of a man with tattoos few, if any, people comment on how muck they dislike them.

I used to think tattoos were now so common as to no longer be subversive, but I guess that’s not the case when it comes to women.

    • Rebecca

      October 16, 2013 at 7:00 am

Interesting point. Modern tattoos have in my experience always been for both men and women. In the 80s when all my middle class, educated friends got them they were massive statements of subversion, but small and carefully placed where they could be concealed. Now when my students get tattoos it seems they have to be very large and multiple. Maybe they get addicted – within a year they’re covered in them – this look is very common around my city. I’m interested to see whether the contemporary ones like this woman’s, which are far more colourful and with finer linework than in the 80s, will last any better than the earlier ones. My seafaring uncle’s authentic 1960s sailor tattoos were just black blobs on his forearms by the time he was 50; my husband’s 1980s ones are faded and blurred like the Levis from the same era.

Its Annina Roescheisen social media artist
A true artist and beautiful soul and woman

    • M.

      October 16, 2013 at 7:39 am

      A true artist? No. A self-promoter.
And what would a woman with tatoos on top of the world in Paris wish to subvert? Please keep in mind that there are countries (like Iran, for example) where people must risk their lives to subvert an oppressive government.

Thanks for the FYI, Matthieu. At first glance her tattoo’s appeared repulsive. I see looking closer they are carefully chosen and placed. She is an artist. One of those rare birds who can make such a thing work. She has taken what is degrading and reversed it. Her tattoos are a parody of the tattoo’ed masses.
Milex, I would pass if I were you on taking a dangerous path. As they say if you have to ask the question the answer is “no”.

People are so judgmental about tattoos, it’s ridiculous. Nobody cares if you like them or not.

    • westcoasttiger

      October 17, 2013 at 2:36 pm

Jon, then what’s the fun of responding to a photo blog where fashion is in itself so subjective? Who wants a blog filled with sycophants? I don’t think anyone’s judgement here will have any lasting effect on the photo subject.
