You caught them at a perfect moment – there’s something haunting and beautiful bout their gaze – it penetrates right into me!

Can’t agree more! I leave the same comment, I’ve been here since the beginning and this is the first comment I leave. The picture talks, they talk. The best picture you have ever taken Schumen!
Absolutely stunning. Formidable and hauntingly beautiful. I too, was compelled to write something for the 1st time on the Sartorialist because of this picture. Bravo.
Now this is a great photo. Their gaze absolutely must draw you in. They have, especially the woman, a stare that would embed even the most stubborn of minds. Absolutely great photography right here. And being this photo was taken at rive gauche reminds me of st. Laurent.
Waow! This picture has an enormous strength which catches you and makes you stare at the picture, looking all the details, inspecting their faces and expressions.
Thank you for such a great inspiration! (:
You can not say that these people are happy. Seems difficult if not Parisian happy in Paris. Whether they do or not fashion-conscious that I can not conclude from this picture.
8:00 AM sunday and I am moved to tears by this incredibly beautiful double portrait ! The contact with this young couple’s eyes is so profound it’s almost painful, it’s a soul to soul dialogue and I wish I could express myself better because this is worthy of a prize.
(I must add, being a previous parisian, le Quartier Latin was my favorite part of Paris.)
You’ve referenced inspiration behind the “girl” photo from Ntl. Geo – this evokes that same calm/fire feel. Negative space is just as artful as subjects – may be my all time favorite of yours.
Riveting! Brought to mind that award-winning, hypnotizing National Geographic photo of the girl with piercing green eyes. The subjects are gorgeous, but the shot is what makes it so mesmerizing. Love your work.
so devastatingly beautiful. pictures like this make me only more irritated that models featured in magazines and on runways aren’t more diverse. there is so, so much beauty in our world’s population, and the models we currently see are only from one slice of it. frustrating. imagine a woman like this in a fashion spread in vogue… or a beauty feature in allure… or walking down the catwalk at marc jacobs. how awesome would that be?
