ridiculous! while i think i'm horribly judging who this man is, i love what he's wearing. that much flannel and felt has to be rewarded. even the color scheme of the book he's holding adds to the odd english/scottish vibe. the scarf and the wellies are banging.
Just want to say I love the outfit – Practically speaking though where I am from in Canada your toes would freeze like ice cubes in those rubber boots. Just not real practical winter gear.
This man's outfit is a work of art. I admire every thing in it. Even the book (sketchbook ?) is great. Love it. Love the scarf, the boots, the coat, the shirt, everything.
I have a pair of Marimekko rain boots in Uniko print. Think I'll put them on tomorrow and wear them with my suit. Damn the torpedos, he's ready for anything! He could very well have shoes on underneath. I was wearing snow cleats on my boots just two weeks ago. One must do, what one must do.
My husband and I were shopping for some all-weather boots (for him) tonight. He said that he didn't think guys could wear wellies. I just showed him this picture, and he changed his mind :)
he looks like a well made bed, in the layering… i particularly like the double sided scarf and i wonder what he is reading and if that book cover was made to order for the bright orange cones. so lovely.
love the look but what happens after you get to the office? do you stomp around in the wellies? Or do you change your shoes, in which case, your pants are all wrinkled . . .
So genteel and dandy, in an aristocratic manner. He creates his own world and moves around in eras (including our own) with ease. A traditionalist who is modern, a true aesthete. What not to admire?
I love it! Hamish Parker-Bowles dressed like a true English eccentric (I have a soft spot for this style – my dad and uncle are also the quintissential English academics)
The mobile and his classic garments are at odds. Ditch the mobile, sir, and join your community. Yell through an orange witch's hat, if the emergency arises. If they're not within earshot they can wait. Nothing is that important.
Great! He's ssso New Yorker!I have wellies in grey ice and use them with my usual working clothes (often jacket and skirt/trousers and often black) with a pair of stilettos in my bag. But in Italy people aren't so used to this. We do have wellies here. Unfortunately a lot (as everything that become a trend, we then want to have it). But we aren't ready to put them on with everything (and this is their function, their use: you put them on when it's rainy or snowy), no, we have to create a perfect look for them, as we all should be ready to leave for a weekend in some x-shire english county…
To the person who said rubber wellies are not warm, have they never seen a pair of lined wellies? To those who object to them because of other reasons I think it is a negative response to the class associations of these items of clothing and related resentments. Mr. Bowles is dressed very practically and elegantly, since being well and elegantly dressed also means being dressed suitably to climate and occasion. Wellies are the perfect thing for walking the snow and slush ridden streets of NYC.
I love the fact that he looks effortless and expensive, but I feel he tends to look like he is wearing the same thing every time he is snapped at a show. Very refreshing.
Ahh again one of the best. Love the wellies mixed with the otherwise classy, neutral colours (and the tie that give a dash of blue!) The stash also adds that element of seriousness and superiority.
P.S: Read some of your book today, my favorite has got to be the Asian girl in Bryant Park. You know, the one with the outlandish shoes, who got comments about her weight? I don't understand what her weight has to do wit her interesting and not generic style. Anyways, just letting you know : )
I got tired of ruining my shoes last winter and decided to wear wellies with my suits. It took a couple of months to find ones that were to my liking but I'm happy with the result!
Dapper. I love every single element of his outfit, his poise, posture. And i LOVE the two blokes looking on in the background. Fashion icon to the max!
Can Hamish Bowles ever dress badly? this is far more simple than alot of the things he's shot wearing. Loved the section in Fantastic Man a while ago with him in one of Bunny Rogers's old suits.
I’m not sure if I would wear them! I mean they dtnafieely don’t look bad on these celebrities, but I guess it’s just not my style? But hehe, who knows, I might change my mind about it. :)
