It’s great how she combined a vintage looking red dress with modern high heeled sandals! It”s something so beautifully different than the standard tee/shorts summer outfits. Refreshing to see…
Her hair, bag and dress are almost sixties looking. Kind of a prim dress with the white collar and cuffs. Her shoes are so now and kind of glitzy. Don’t think I would have put those together, but it’s certainly a fresh take on a classic look. She’s pretty and timeless.
This dress reminds me of my elementary scholl uniform, down to the
“cartable” ! Of course, mine wasn’t of this vibrant shade but grey and white.
Anyway, this woman has a beautiful smile.
I think only this fresh-faced, gorgeous gal could pull this off. I don’t love the dress or the shoes but together on her – it WORKS. Brilliantly. She could be on a farm or in a bustling city – just breathtakingly gorgeous. Thanks so much Sartorialist!
Wonderful shot! I love the dress, but most of all, her expression and how the wind played with her hair and dress….lovely! Not sure if the dress has the white collar and cuffs, but it seems that she layered a blouse underneath.
This look is not my thing.
The shoes are impossible to walk in, I detest peter-pan collars and the material looks like polyester.
Perhaps for some, but not for me.
I love her face, especially her smile! The whole look is just so classic and i think she pulls the red dress with the black suitcase really well. The only thing that bothers me is her hosery. They’re much darker than her skin and i think if she decides to wear them, they should either be matching with her skin tone or completely opaque black and not sheer black!
I had to say that the dress is so vintage and chic as well, i love the red color and I like the woman’s posse but I really don’t like the shoes. First and foremost the shoes haves other style and…….. how can I say it? it doesn’t mach for me…..
This is a vibrant transitional outfit. The white collar and cuffs, and long sleeves make it appropriate for work wear, whilst the vibrant red can be dressed up or down- it’s a statement in itself. I’d love a dress like this to wear to work and then after hours, on date, even to church. On the hunt!

I love how she swung the “Madonna/whore” thing so successfully here. (And I use the “whore” term loosely and in a good way.)
The high, prim neckline vs. the sexy hot red. vs. the come-hither shoes and hair in the breeze – fantastic.
