Never expected a man with such a gorgeous mien to fancy and be paired with a funky old Chairman Mao jacket, with veritable color wheel buttons to boot. Heart this, Sart!
he looks great! the buttons draws all the attention – but i love also the very simple forms. the jacket could look like a workers garment from china (but also other countries have this blue, padded cotton jackets with very few details for workers.) I'm guessing this young gentleman is an architect who went to china for a workshop and got inspired in other ways too…
Super cool. The jacket reminds me of those chinese quilted jackets. The trousers counter act the volume of the jacket, and the buttons add a nice splash of colour. Cosy and stylish.
Looks amazing. We often have very clear associations when it comes to military chic – think trench coats, epaulettes, etc. The above comments have shown that we do not usually conceive this outfit to fall in the same category. Some background on the jacket though may change this, esp. considering the fact that our street model seems to be Russian. This type of jacket (grey, beige, olive) was worn by certain types Russian soldiers, mainly rear-gunners in a bomber airplane or MG-crews in winter. Quite ironic that the colour of this jacket is Prussian-blue (Preussisch-Blau), thereby marrying former enemies into a peaceful entity. Quite brilliant outfit with more cultural/social implications than first meets the eye.
Alex said: Igor is a executive editor of russian GQ Style and also executive fashion editor of russian GQ. And what about his jersey or it would be more correctly to call it cotton wadded pull-over? Usually prisoners wear it like a uniform. As we know uniform is a trend of lastest designers collection. So together with a help of a scarf and a few buttons "a la ralph lauren" it looks stylish. I remember reading some comments expressing their animosity towards Scott's coverage of the influx of new season shows. I ask for the said posters to redirect their attention from price tags and admire what's being produced at hand.
This silhouette bears a strong resemblance to that of Burberry Prorsum Menswear Autumn/Winter 2011-12 show. It's a perfect example of how one can draw inspiration from the lovely (and often unaffordable) designer brands and make it our own.
Being a student/part-timer, I am all too familiar with my financial constraints keeping the wares of the major fashion houses beyond my grasp. So I admire from afar. Reinterpret as I do. And relish in any fortune that comes my way.
