I think pants can be too tight. I’m seeing a lot of guys wearing tight to the point of being tights kind of pants and I am just not carried away. The fellow in the Le Marais photo has a little breathing room all around, that seems okay, I guess I’m not a thigh gal.
It’s a really great photograph of a man mid-air!! I love the feeling that this is a sudden glimpse that is created by the bodies in the foreground.
However, the clothes themselves feel predictable and not fresh: plaid, super-tight (gray) jeans, pointy shoes, small leather jacket, purple, even the transparent-rimmed aviators…
I know you dislike the expression, Scott, but, unless I’m missing something, it feels a bit too on trend. Most of the people you show us are in their own orbit more so than this guy.
Good photograph, the movement caught through the people in the foreground, as another poster said. Also like the orange tram backdrop.. movement is sort of ‘packaged’ here.
The boots look like cowboy boots, very routine where I live now. I’ve nothing to say about the clothes or the man, just like the captured moment.
This fellow just goes to show the truth of my lifelong contention that a nice pair of western boots, like the ability to quote Shakespeare or the Old Testament, is a social asset in any crowd. This is as true in Paris or Milan as in Calgary or Drumheller.
As others have said, very Michael Hutchence, but even spookier, Milano looks very Melbourne (and so does he). Goodness knows how the two of you are going to find anyone in Sydney.
Just how does Olivier keep his hair the perfect amount of French creative craziness? I wonder what it looks like when he leaves the hairdresser! Love his purple shoes!
He looks very much like Vincent Gallo in his movie Buffalo66 (Gallo wears those same boots, grey thight jeans, hairstyle and the most amazing lead color trucker leather jacket).
OLIVER ZAHM IS GOING TO SO SO WEAR OUT THAT YSL LEATHER JACKET HE ALWAYS SEEMS TO HAVE ON IN EVERY SINGLE SHOT!!
A LUCKY TALISMAN ME THINK? ITS GREAT WHEN A DUDE FINDS HIS ´FLOW´AND STICKS WITH IT & IN OLIVER´CASE ITS CERTAINLY THE BOOTS/YSL LEATHER/AVIATOR/MEDALLION- OPEN SHIRT CHIC!
For some reason, that drawstring bow is bothering me to no end.
That, and if your pants are so tight it’s best to find another place to carry your keys… Overall, though, it’s a jolly look and the plaid shirt is especially nice.
My favourite thing is by far the layering – I love it! The way the upturned shirt collar picks up the collar of the leather jacket = effortless perfection
