So pure ! It’s interesting when you’re putting two pictures which show the interpretation of white. The first is a kind of classic one that we’re used to see on the street and the other is the new one that only very stylish and modern fashion can do.
Only in Florence could the nurses be this chic. I like how they both have they’re own unique outfits, and the shoes on the second nurse certainly aren’t standard either.
Are they really nurses? I thought they were and was about to write that they are a far cry from our American nurses in candy colored scrubs! But maybe “Nurse Chic” is just the title about all white outfits. Will we ever know? Either way, they look lovely!
Wearing a uniquely white or black outfit becomes an interesting statement about shape and texture. It’s something I want to encorporate more into my style.
There was a time when white shoes and bags would be not elegant bwecause they were associated with nurses. Today the nurses wear pants and clogs so that it has become a trend to wear white now. Somehow like it better in a combination with grey, black and leather. http://madrilicious.com
Sterile. In a city that is filled with dust and dirt all summer long where I cannot seem to keep my feet clean for one block…these women have achieved the unachievable! Sometimes I just want the women to undo the clothes and just walk away from them leaving them suspended in mid air…like a bird leaving its cage when the owner forgets to lock the little door.
these are absolutely sweet and refreshing—-Heads up to all of our wonderful nurses in the States: there is life after Spongebob Squarepants
smocks!
Oh… would I love to see nurses dressed in lovely whites again…..
Perfect harmony of clothes and street. Second one is an exquisite take on the Japanese inspired linen suit – great to see it on someone who looks like she belongs in the town rather than on the catwalk.
Nurses now don’t wear white, at least not in North America. They wear easy wash, coloured scrubs, which make nurses look undignified and hard to tell apart from the cleaning staff.
I love the old English movies where nurses wear these little white outfits with capes and hats. So darling.
All that time spent starching.
Did you know that in the early days of nursing, they were forbidden to marry? That was the level of dedication required. And young women came in droves.

But Oh! That gloriously pristine second woman gives me hope.
