I caught her!

The second shot gives you an idea of how hard it is to catch a young lady moving very fast on her bike while I try to shoot her (moving slightly less fast) from my bike, all while shooting with a 100mm lens during a setting sun.

Epic outfit! Love it. So much style. She looks super cool, especially with her bike helmet (I’m serious). Safety first!
    She’s also stunning.

Now this I don’t like. The colors are terrible together, and the woman is very awkward looking. Its still very original looking. But I can honestly say I am glad I don’t look anything like her.

I happen to know this girl personally. And yes while it’s not her best shot, she is one of the most STUNNING girls I’ve met in my entire life. And I am not just talking about weird beauty, I am talking STUNNING. If you saw her in person you would only wish to look even a little bit like her.

I believe you. I look at this again much later, and now she looks beautiful. I mean I am sure I don’t want to look like her, but I do think she looks elegant. Maybe I have become used to the clashing colors as she was ahead of her time.

Look at those shoes! She is so cool. Yesterday I made a traffic warden laugh for about 10min cause I was cycling in heels! It’s not because you cycle that you have to wear lycra and high viz jackets. You can still be chic and safe, proof is with her and her helmet. Always wear a helmet!

      April 30, 2013 at 10:41 am

Ofcourse I understand that it’s much saver riding your bike with a helmet – in The Netherlands though, we all cycle bare-headed! The helmet on this girl looks cool, I think, because she is dressed hip, chic & stylish!

I know, in Holland everyone is so stylish on bikes :) Was in Amsterdam last month and kept looking at all the cool cyclists for inspiration. You are lucky, the cars respect you and you have cycling paths everywhere, it’s great. In Glasgow it’s not like that!

That skirt is amazing for spring, and clearly takes some skill to pull off while riding a bike! Congrats on getting the shot – she looks like she’s a pretty fast rider!

brilliant that you showed that – because…it’s all easier said than done, isn’t it.

i think anything that a creative person does is assumed to be “instant & easily achieved.” POOF! like magic. you just wave a wand. like it just appears with no variables to deal with.

but the magic takes skill & work and a lot of chasing down, doesn’t it :)

i love the almost defiant look on her face, it almost borders on annoyance… that you won the chase!

Good effort cycling in those shoes! Probably quite a serious cyclist as has an old school Bianchi – can’t quite see if it has the classic chromed front forks. Polo helmet a great and sexier option for the female cyclist.

Super shot, maybe think about investing in a little GoPro for the handle bars for bike chases, lol, quite a trick to hand hold a DSLR with 100mm lens while riding a bike in traffic, living dangerously

So fun!!! But how in the world do you ride a bike in such big wedges is beyond me. You’re both rock stars.

    • Rebecca

      May 1, 2013 at 1:26 am

Believe me, I find it a whole lot easier to ride a bike in heels or wedges than to walk in them! Bikes are the best.

Glad she wasn’t the one who got away! Fabulous shot, sounds as though you had your challenges with this one! One part pretty, one part goth, one part sheer attitude = a striking, beautiful girl, not afraid to be her own person.

    April 30, 2013 at 2:42 pm

YAY! A shot of a cyclist protecting her head! The Euro-glam shots of women with flowing hair and the baguette/flowers in their bike basket is great and all, but I’ve always wanted you to capture a stylish woman rockin’ a helmet. And you did!! Thank you!

Because you pedal with your toes, not your heel. Heels are fairly irrelevant to the biking process.

This is sooo cool. The short twirly skirt, the tee overtop, (who would do that?) those tights with the vertical lines, then the knee socks over top. With wedges. With a bike, with a bike helmet. Some people have all the luck.
