He is a very handsome man and both his tailoring and grooming are impeccable.

I wish, though, that he had avoided looking so matchy-matchy, as the kids say.

A tie with some red, green or purple in it, or a paisley pocket square might have added just that little bit of color to really set this ensemble apart. As it is, he looks a little too much like he’s wearing a uniform of some sort.

Note that the shoes are scuffed.

He’ll be kicked out of the yacht club …fer shure.

(But what a quality suede that must of been to be so richly navy that it seems midnight black.)

A bit to starchily self-conscious for me–and way premature seasonally, no?

Brown shoes of any variety – tan, dark oak, mink suede – would have taken this outfit to the next level. The one’s he’s wearing detract from the look, imo.

He looks pretty good. Brown shoes in leather or suede would have looked better as many have commented. Also a handsome guy which helps. Someone mentions the seasonality of his colors. Italians don’t observe the silly no white before labor day conventions of we are so fond. It’s a spring day one dresses appropriately. I’m inclined to agree that the odd jarring note would have given it a lift but you’d have to give him a B. And more to the point one just see’s a lot more people dressed stylishly like this in Italy than one does in the USA.

Recent postings suggest that even the Milanese are affected by seasonal ambiguity: white trousers for him, black trench coat for her.

Excellent. More fitted shirt cuffs and it would be perfect.

    hey sart,

do you tell all your subjects about your site? you should do what those club photographers do… give business cards out after you take their picture and tell them to check out your blog. More exposure!

assuming you don’t do that already. :)

Just a tad too Thurston Howell III for me, but that’s generally my visceral reaction to navy and white.

He is very matchy-matchy. That being said, he looks very put together and he also looks like a happy guy.

Months of being sartorially-educated in this blog has lead me to the question — isn’t he showing too much cuff?

Two words: too much cuff (or too little sleeve).

Nice but just that. Looks like the greek prime minister in his summer suit, although of much better quality.

i like the coordination between the amount of sleeve showing at the wrist and the height of the pocket square. you probably made this guys day asking him for a picture.

Very classic and cool-looking ensemble. The jacket sleeves are a bit short, though.

Great look although I would have lpreferred tan/lighter leather accessories.

Jacket not too short, shirt sleeves too long.

    Overall, nice look-
