Love the dress–the dye colours are rich and earthy. Not sure about this shirt/jacket with it–maybe from a different angle? It seems to sit slightly odd.
I keep thinking this is a floral print when actually its a painterly fabric made to look floral by the colours and embellished hem. Its gorgeous. Love her trinkets too.
The jewel tones in her dress are so perfect with those deep green trees in the background. I love her random assortment of accessories- it's so effortlessly cool.
What a beautiful dress and a daring combination. I would be scared a jacket like that would take away from the dress too much, but it works wonderfully.
I don't understand this military/fatigue/work jacket combined with pretty dresses. Is it an attempt to hide the dress? If you wear a dress, wear it with pride- this one is beautiful. I am sorry, but this appears to be a twelve year old who insists on wearing her favorite jacket over her party dress. Grow up.
I am going to a wedding this weekend and will wear my old green flight jacket over my linen suit. I am sure the bride will consider me tres chic. Maybe she'll wear a jean jacket over her gown. Please, look at the "jazz age" photos again.
In my opinion, olive green is like black – you can wear it with any color.
Color-wise, this is nice. Shape-wise, I don't think it works. The ruffled dress with the slim-fitting jacket of almost the same length – bad proportions.
Great look. I have been looking for a jacket like this. It's nice and simple! Not too short, and not too long, not too bulky. Anyone know where to find it?
Wow, nice look. Simple and interesting and functional. The Military/Safari jacket adds a flavor to a cheery, fun underpinning. I recently posted regarding Safari jackets.
I dunno, I'm not fond of this combination, the jacket looks dumb on top of a full dress like this. I like the dress, but it's a tad too girly for me. I prefer the girl in the second picture, just natural and with a nice stance. She seems burdened to me, with her bag and her rings and her jewelry in general.
I think we see a lot of this look lately, the floral dress with the military coat..however she makes it all look very personal and not as trendy as some others…her eclectic mix of her clutch and jewellery play a big part in making the look all her own…overall I love it :)
We can tell she chooses her outfits and accessories with what she really likes. She is a person with taste and knows how to match everything without being pretencious.I wonder what kind of shoes she's wearing…
In response to Laurent. . . Perhaps she was trying to look like she was 12 because she wanted to have a fun, playful day with her wardrobe. Perhaps it's a nice summer day in Western Europe but it's breezy enough to wear a light jacket. Perhaps she's a sitting editor at Vogue Nippon and she's embodying the Japanese sensibility to mash an abundance of trends together to convey a unique look. Perhaps she really wants to wear her favorite jacket of the moment (which so happens to be a militaristic one) and a dress (in floral) and fell in love with the contrast (also evident in her choice of accessories). Perhaps she's on her way to a show during men's fashion week and not a wedding and she doesn't care what anyone, especially the bride, will think. Perhaps you should have more fun with the way you dress albeit however old you are and stop making snarky comments at the expense of one's personal style. This is fashion and reality at its best, so get over yourself.
So pretty, the bright frothy dress peeking from all those browns, I wish I could see the dress entire. It looks like it's designed as shirt collar and buttondown on top — unexpected in contrast to the feminine tiers of the skirt.
I love this look so much and it absolutely inspires me to stop dressing so safely. I adore the dress its pretty funky for a floral number, and everything she has put with it lifts it above the ordinary.

I applaud all attempts at style,My wife is a former Ford model, now in her 30s, very au courant, and has an eclectic, dynamic style which I applaud and encourage. I just can't understand this apparent "work" jacket/dress trend, and hoped for explanation!
More to Cruz, et. al. I guess it is these "mash ups" I don't like. I interpret it as a non-commitment to a style, as if one wants to wear a feminine dress but has to negate it with a grunge element. No matter the "statement" I dont think the visual design/color complement works to show any pre-thought design concept, but that's me.
i also completely approve of and would love to bring into my life the military jacket- floral look coz i sometimes think im too flowery and butterfly-y. her accessories are a bit messy though, dont match up up, not even in a "meant to be messy" manner.
I love everything about her outfit. The mannish military jacket, the playful rosette dress and the jangle of jewelry. I also love that her hair is a simple ponytail with no heavy makeup. She looks great. Oh and the tan bag works well too. black would have been too heavy.
i have this exact outfit, only mine is entirely thrift, cost me less than $10, and thanks to a little easy tailoring is totally one of a kind and fits like a glove. thanks for validating my thrifty leap of fashion faith!
wow. everything about this is a mess. the glasses. the purse. true, military can be a cool contrast with feminine, but definitely not working in this case.
The combination of the military and the floral give a clashing outfit that makes for a unique look. With the military jacket you get a sense of a informal laid back tom boy but with the floral dress you get the sense of a formal high society girl. These two combined makes a look that is utterly adorable and unforgettable.
I LOVE this look! It's definitely something I'll be wearing for fall. I've gotten some other ideas from the runway shows on http://www.runwaypassport.com.

wow. everything about this is a mess. the glasses. the purse. true, military can be a cool contrast with feminine, but definitely not working in this case.

The combination of the military and the floral give a clashing outfit that makes for a unique look. With the military jacket you get a sense of a informal laid back tom boy but with the floral dress you get the sense of a formal high society girl. These two combined makes a look that is utterly adorable and unforgettable.

The dress is by Opening Ceremony. It's sold out though but if you look at the website you can still buy some items in the same print (shorts, pants).
