Its a very beautiful photo, but I have to questions the realisticness of his outfit. Who and where other than college can you pull this off? I would have say that everything is far to cropped even if I look at it in a fashion forward point of view.
oxfords would have made this work better but i really like his look, even if i'm afraid he is going to get beat up by some bullies. …oh, wait, he's an adult!
To me, this look has its roots in the British/Jamaican-influenced rude boy/suedehead look of the late '60s, which is reflected in almost every single detail: from the closely cropped hairstyle to the tucked-in short-sleeved button down shirt to the desert boots and thin suspenders.
And yet, he doesn't look dated or out of place at all; probably due to the timelessness of this style, and the fact that he put in little details of his own: the briefcase, avoiding socks, and the neutral color combination, for starters.
He's also taken the look in a less utalitarian, more elegant direction with the way he's mixed all these elements together (and by wisely avoiding chunky footwear). I really wonder how premeditated or calculated his choices were. Beautifully done, regardless!
Its a nice clean look, well tailored, and flattering to his figure, however, the whole look creates associations with a schoolboy look from the 1920's or something. I don't know if grown men should ever look like little boys.
Enlightened comments.I have a better sense of what's happening here. Initially I was bewildered upon spying this picture. This young chap's outfit reminds me of Monty Python's send up of 'challenged' youth!
I like an above ankle pant length, and I like a rolled up small sleeve, but not together. I think it looks better to have one regular, or even loose and long, than both halves looking as if you accidentally put the dryer on high for an hour. The proportions are just off, not in a good way, and it looks uncomfortable. But obviously, I am in the huge minority with this opinion!
Love everything above the waist – suspenders, cuffed short sleeves, the severe haircut and expression. Hate the trouser length – or maybe I would like it with a lighter colored shoe. I don't know, it just seems so off with the dark boot. His briefcase is amazing though.
I like everything except the last 7 inches. the bare ankle sticking out the boot bothers me somehow. It looks uncomfortable doesn't flatter his legs at all. It turns it from cool and sharp to forest gump like imho
