this exemplifies perfectly my favorite thing about Italian fashion: making the unthinkable work in such a elegant way that when you see it you think "of course! well that makes sense" and then only after you realize how bold (if simple) the ensemble might be..! I LOVE it.
I'm not a fan of this look. It makes me think she just got home from Salsa dancing class and put on her painting clothes- but left the original shoes. Sometimes irony works, but I don't think so in this case.
Of course when you're that pretty, you can wear unattractive outfits and still look good.
she could esily be botticelli's venus stepping out of the foaming sea shell..transpose feathers to sea foam and she is easily recognisable as the brasillian who outshines all the other brasillian "it girls"
Thank you! I put on my boyfriend jeans with heels this summer and my French sweetie scoffed at me (true, those heels and jeans were nothing compared to Mariacarla's)–now, I can show him this photo and say "See? I actually was on to something!"…
I Love MariaCarla: she rocks! I'm not a fan of ripped jeans, and I think she looks best with a more natural shade for her lips – but hey, she can pull off anything! Love the color palette and the shoes: bold!
She is out of this world, but I have to disagree with most of yous guys about the shoes. I'd lose the feathers, now she looks like she's accidentally tripped over a white pigeon or a small dog with considerable force…Yikes!
Anon 2:27AM, you shouldn't be sorry about expressing your opinion. We are presented with street fashion which, in real life, is at the mercy of the public who in turn form their opinion about what they see. The brave speak their minds; the weak conform. If we are to gain a true understanding of the public's opinion then your own should be welcomed not castigated.
Personally I believe she's gorgeous in a down-to-earth Italian way which I find irresistible. I love everything about her except for her ultra-thin frame and her jeans which are a straight derivative of jeans worn by American Harley riders of decades gone by. The American biker look I find detestable hence by osmosis, her jeans should be trashed.
im speechless. this may just be the first time an image has taken my breath away. theres just something about her simplicity mixed with the striking face and hair, and the casualty mixed with dramatic shoes and large rips. W-O-W!
The shoes are amazing, and they make the outfit, both by providing an extreme contrast with the clothes as well as by giving her a posture of a Disney fairy alighting on a flower. Are her fairy wings hidden behind her back? The outfit works because she is so beautiful. It's a "don't try this at home" look. Holes in the jeans are horrid, unless they give a peekaboo at gorgeous gams. Plain white tee-shirt, whose sleeves don't even look finished? Yawn. The shoes and the lipstick are our cues that despite the very understated jeans/tee-shirt combo, she's no slob.
absolutely fab!! when you thought this kind of jeans where dead, she looks amazing on them.. I sort of like the shoes, and Id loose the feathers!! but everything else is beautiful! Im a jewelry freak, def would put something of this on:: http://www.mercedessalazar.com/new_en/necklaces/117-i-love-my-necklace I love her, in love with her and all she represents!!!
The young woman is lovely, the shoes are very pretty and I just do not understand these kind of clothes at all.
I really wish someone would explain it to me. I guess I'm middle class and boring, but I admire many of the looks shown in the style blogs, and I understand that runway style is art, not necessarily wearable…but to me, these are just unattractive ill-fitting rags.
at first I didn't get the clothes with the shoes, but somehow it works and for me I think it's because the feathers sort of mirror the tatters on the jeans. I had a pair of actual old holey jeans from my boyfriend and I threw them away- what was I thinking?
She is beautifull and her outfit is simple but really love teared jeans. Just wish, if shoes were without those feathers or what is that – somehow don´t like it. And some smile should be nice, I guess she got one really beautifull. Awesome photo, thanks for it. Pavel
I'm very concerned regarding the re-emergence of the torn jean look, accompanied with feathers, ( also see previous photo: feather collar), it feels like, " ummm, I KNOW, put some feathers on it!!", kind of an after thought. Attractive women, outfits? not so much.
To Charllote k, i will explain to you,she is using something very basic, tee shirt white+jeans+shoes beige…well she make evrithing gorgeous, like to use a destroyer jeans+shoes with feathers+and over tee shirt white, her hair, whats she did is just all we woman wish,to transform the basic in something exceptional…beijos from a Brazilian lady!!!
The photo is so Botticelli Birth of Venus – a postmodern take. The lighting is amazing and the gold trees give her a beautiful halo. LOVE the jeans, mixed with her classic beauty and those fabulous, fabulous shoes.
She is wonderfully stylish beyond any social conventions, her shoes are whimsical, and her beauty ethereal…however it is a shame to see such a beautiful face overshadowed by hair that does nothing for her. I liked it better when it was short.
The outfit works, especially for someone so thin. However, from the neck up – no no. Her hair, face, and lips really make her look like an old vampire, and an unattractive one. She needs only to open her mouth and flaunt her teeth to complete the look.
This is absolutely one of my all time favoirte "looks". I love a simple white tee with jeans and then jazzing it up with a pair of great shoes. Simple and understated but kicked up a notch. She's so beautiful and she really rocks this look.
That is amazing. Look at how graceful and lovely her figure is. I wish I looked like that. I love the jeans. I wish I still had a pair. Great shoes too. There is nothing sexier and better then totally worn in jeans. The best thing about it is that people who don’t get the style are people you don’t want to impress in any way.
