I love the 4-button DB suit with a ticket pocket but I love the small blue flower ,chosen to match his shirt and worn so dashingly in his lapel, even more.
I didn’t get the sense he was a head-of-state or even that he was rushing off to any place in particular but he was going to look his best wherever he went – if only for his own sense of pride and amusement.

Again, I only hope that I look so sharp when I’m a sectagenarian! And kudos for this gentleman for keeping the boutinere alive.

Look at how well he poses, shifting his weight ever so slightly to one hip! So comfortable and showy at the same time! Quite a contrast to the young man-on-the-street poses: the Humourless Stoic with a plain square stance or the Hulking Slouch.

Sartorialist – I think you mean a 6×2 DB.

He is lovely… I image the flower was not planned but nicked from the table and tucked in by his equally lovely lunch companion!

The tie knot looks a bit sloppy and a spread collar shirt would have paired much better with the classic DB.

The ticket pocket, pocket square and flower together are a little busy.

If that is a 4 button, I’ll have to take back some of my negative comments about them (not all, but a few). I have never liked a 4 button coat, but his suits seems to fit him very nicely. A classic looking older gentleman.

Love the boutinere! When it isn’t a prom or wedding, any guy gets satorial points for having the style to wear one.DB jackets are great, especially on tall lean people like this gentleman. I preffer it when the bottom button is left open. On shorter guys, leaving the top button open gives a nice body lengthening, roll to the lapel.

OMG! This man is my ex-boss, Ira Spanierman of Spanierman Gallery. It was a crazy joint to work in but Ira is always tunred out to the nines, for sure. Daily uniform: a bespoke double breasted Saville Row suit and an Hermes tie and pocket square!
