I LOVE this look. This is what I want to wear all through the winter. It has everything, technical, tailoring, sartorial and casual. http://www.thesparkyman.com
Hey, that’s friggin awesome! Patatogonia down vest under a blazer. They’re able to make those vests extremely thin now, so … why not! Super warm too, so one can be elegant and cozy at the same time. Add a hat, and voila!
Hi!!
If you ever do consider taken your camera to the streets of Antwerp, Belgium, do let me know so I can take to my best outfit and be out all day to come randomly find you :))
Check out my blog and support me please, am new in Bloggercity and would love some tips!
I just bought a puffy vest thinking I’ve eschewed any style sensibilities for warmth… This is definitely a dare to be creative with my bicycle riding in the cold outfits!
This jacket is fabulous.I want it and i want it now.I love hats too but not when i wear long hear…but probably i will look for a hat like that for next year.
I could not dream up a better ensemble for a man — from the shorter blazer to the subtle but noticable contrasting neutrals — even the different levels of blue used, this look is so cool. Being an admirer of all levels of designers and brands (and a winter-clothing devotee of Filson and Patagonia gear), I’m wondering if the hat is by the former and the vest by the latter?
Usually don’t pay much attention to the NYC pics cuz I live there and see these images often. But this guy is cute, the layering is perfect, dressed simple and cool, and the hat and sweet peaceful expression make the whole pic. Luv it! Luv him!
Fantastic! This is how layering is down. And what a beautiful smile and thoughtful eyes. I want to know what this gentleman is thinking under that amazing hat! :) (..probably how cool it is to be getting his picture taken by the sartorialist, haha)
I come on this blog everyday to see the updates, I appreciate it everytime, but still, it is the first time that I feel the need to post a comment.
Yes, just to say oh my god, it says enough !
So many cool details. The beat-up casualness of the expensive-looking hat to the slightly pulled-down 4-in-hand tie knot. The color scheme is great too: blue-blue-blue inside, gray-gray-brown outside. Would love to see the shoes.
@ Charikleia–you make a really good point about his ability to seamlessly combine innate cool with self-aware elegance! That is indeed a tough balance to achieve.
I love this look. Being from California, it’s strange for me to think that one would by a sports jacket a couple of sizes bigger to have another jacket like this as an inner layer. When I ride my Vespa around San Francisco, I wear my Prada vest as the outer layer over my sports coats and jackets. The way is pictured here looks better.
Daaame. He’s so handsome + this kind of classy dark skinned men style. I love it.
It makes me completely agree with some previous posts like “I’m in love” or “merry me” hahaha.
+ I also really like the idea of vest under the jacket. And of course I adore his hat.
This is the most unusual mixture that works together. He has the black thermal vest yet a very nice grey collared shirt and gray woolen jacket. The brown (corduroy I assume) pants are the pair to the brown hat. And the black tie ironically ties it all together. The best style, is either classic or unexpected yet good combinations.
Looks like this work, I think, because of the dissonance between the 2 looks – business and casual in this instance. I love the puffy vest and jeans (and stubble), but only because of the hat and tailored jacket. And after staring for a while, I have decided the collared shirt and tie really are key to this look. It tells me this is not just a casual guy dressing sharp… it’s a sharp dressed man going casual. Love it! Thanks :)
