I hate to be negative but I don't like this! The cut is unflattering IMHO – too much gathering and too much fabric from the waist down and the ruffles up top combined with the tight waist cinching make the bust appear to hang low. Looks a bit like a Victorian nightgown in a stretch knit. Also the colour is a bit harsh on her. Sorry!
What an amazing dress! The color is simply beyond beautiful and a little splash of ornage color brings it out even more ( I assume it is an orange clutch bag in her hands?). Beautiful picture!
the dress is to die for. the way it falls off her hips just after the cinching of the waist, the wonderful collar, and the length are all done with great taste. the colour of the clutch is superb, and her watch is very classy. the greatest thing about this outfit is how effortless it looks. she isn't distracted by her clothes – she is celebrating them by living them without having to think about them. she lets them speak for themselves.
don't know if that makes sense, but great outfit, nonetheless.
I wish I were taller so I could get away with wearing a dress with this length! She looks amazing, and her simple hair works so well with the ruffling. xxx
Gorgeous and obviously vintage by the shirred neck ruffle, silhouette, color and the uneven hem (it's all sooo 1970's). Can't get this one off the rack!
Wow! That is a truly stunning dress. I love the way it hangs- looks like its been cut on the bias? The colour is gorgeous and the ruffles just make it all the more charming. I also like the orange clutch as it adds contrasting (well, clashing!) colour. Nice waatch. Definitely one of my favourite looks so far!
she looks out of place and your picture and her facial expression capture that. her outfit provokes no desire to be her at that place at that time. the color, the cut, the material seems to be off somehow. but great picture, because i can see and feel all of what i said through viewing it.
i love the idea of a silky long maxi dress in the summer – just not in NYC, where the idea of trudging up and down subway station steps in a floor-grazing frock makes me shudder :P. that color is positively beautiful with her skin tone and hair color though!
It's hard to pull of a look like this and not look like you're wearing curtains, but she does it. The lightweight fabric certainly helps, but as others have said she wears it very well.

Oh wow, now that's a dress. A beautiful, beautiful, beautiful dress. The color, the ruffles, the orange clutch she's grasping in her hands. I love it all!
I love this at first glance, but when I look further I can see that she feels uncomfortable – she feels out of place, somewhat. I love the colour and the style, especially the waist and the ruffled neckline, but have problems with the uneven hem (looks like the seamstress had a care factor of zero) and the fact that it does make her bust look a little saggy … But overall I do love it – throw in some bust support, an even hem and a confident pose and it would be a winner!!
this IS the dress that was on gok's fashion fix? h&m, i'm pretty sure, yes. she belted it like he did, and the ruffles are totally the same…and the colour. hmm a well worn h&m
What an dreadful dress, the colour is quite disturbing and the overall design is frumpy and fussy – sorry I know I am in a minority of one, but I really don't think it does this woman (or anyone else) any favours at all – the type of thing some of my parents' more pretentious friends wore in the eighties…oh fashion…
it's so dramatic i wanna die. I'm a big sucker for drama really :). The dress is amazing. I love the fresh twist the orange clutch gives to the whole look.
