His soes reminds me of those photos of Garance awhile ago where she had black monk straps on and I find myself wishing there was a blog of just what she wears every day, so I could make lame attempts to copy her style.
Of course then I would never have seen that lovely plaid jacket with the gentler plaid pants, both of which make me unreasonably happy.
Its so funny, I work at an alterations shop in Seattle and the men around here are soooooo conservative when it comes to pant lengths (well and now that I mention it, fashion in general) ….almost no one requests a cuff when they get a hem, and they wouldn’t be caught dead in high waters! Whenever a slightly fashionable man comes in I remind them “oh, I’ve seen cuffed highwaters are back in style and it has a really preppy, dapper edge..” but no one gets it…they barely laugh, then hand me their polyester JC Penny Haggar’s.
I love tweed , especially double tweed. The shoes are a bit tricksie; an ankle boot would have been better with these shortish trousers. Then man in the middle looks great, the that coat with those trousers and glasses.
that was the sexiest, most admirable compliment I have ever heard a woman say about a man. I am just now reading this and it astonishing how women really do admire a man that can dress…well!
i think this is usually you would post like back when in 2009. and thanks to you i am getting everthing here in the picture now. i for one would adpot the basic pieces for my daily wear and feel comfortable. but if i can observe the same wear in my personal life and take a picture of that..that would make the year to me. anyway thank you. i am still feeling for this fancy blog over these years.
Sometimes I have to shut off my “fashion conscious eye” when I walk around …. the vast majority of North Americans dress like slobs. I see a photo like this and could weep. I mean, look at these men. Style oozing out of their pores.
the first strap of the shoes open, the trousers too short, the scarf out the pocket, the coat too slim, the watch, the tan…
He’s a little bit “tamarro” as we say in Italy…
I just bought a pair of Johnny Fluvogs that remind me of these, brown straps across a black shoe. 2-toned shoes are so versatile, and I find wearing them is a little bit like jewelry for the feet.
These men look amazing. Someday this will be a classic photo -for now, it’s just great. Interesting the scarves hanging from their coat pockets. Isn’t confidence the most attractive thing?
Lino is , as always , outstanding.. For who does not know the man he is an icon of style in Milan, Italy.. He owns Al Bazar in Milan , best place for tailoried suit for men in town..
And he definetly is not a Tamarro…
