This is an amazing photo – I am so in love with her shoes. The whole outfit is very stylish, the hair and glasses add so much style to the look. Great work :)
I have been so loving this color lately!
Love the whole look and the shoes and the socks are totally rocking!
Great picture…love that I can’t see all of her face in the shot
Best, Zia http://tisallaboutthefashion.blogspot.in/
Love the look and she’s adorable…..however the whole eyeglasses thing is getting too common for my taste. The skirt is fantastic. She is sacrificing her natural beauty for a trend. But hey, she is young.
I love the eyeglasses. I own a pair from Bonlook. Which I bought online and super fun to wear. Yes, the eyewear is a retro throw back from the past…but so is the leather jacket. I appreciate there are no STRIPES in this look…OMGoddess, stripes are so common and boring…Love the hair, the skirt and whole outfit is really cute. Yes!
This pic is reminding me of page 452 in “The Sartorialist,” from Milan in February of 2008. Either it’s the same woman five years later, or “kindred spirits” who are dead- ringers for each other. the comments on the blog five years ago were very positive, making all of us with real prescription glasses wondering where to actually look for and wear our own version.
My first pair of glasses were prescribed when I was ten years old, so I’ve had many styles in the past 50 years and I can describe each and every one of the frames. Of all the things I’ve worn in my lifetime, eyewear is certainly the most love-hate item I’ve had to contend with. An astigmatism rules out contacts, although through the years four different types have been tried! Just when I began to make peace with near sightedness
It was time to move into bifocals and attempt to deal with those (they can be pretty disconcerting on stairs, etc).
A year ago my exam and new pair of Kate Spade frames and lenses cost very close to
$1200. And the frames were the least expensive aspect of the three items. Trust me, I would much rather be purchasing a gorgeous handbag or trench for those $$$$’s!
tigmatism rules out contacts, although I gave the hard, semi-soft,
Soft and extended wear all a good shot!
Everything about this is perfect. Her hair, her glasses, the jacket and the bag, her skirt, and the socks with the heels. Perfect outfit inspiration! I love it!
The eye of The Sartorialist must be going through a period of a fetish for glasses…every other post is one of the intellectual librarian look…I love a good pair of frames…but there’s more to see out there than just one look!
Love, love, love the shoe/sock combo and especially in those colours. I am smitten with blues at the moment and think they pair so well with the browns and mustards. You don’t see it a lot and I think it makes it more impactful. Great photo. Thanks.
i really like the jacket/skirt/bag combination and the way she is shot. the shoes and socks are less universally likable… but that’s what makes the outfit special. nicely done.
I usually don’t like to see any kind of open shoes with socks. But this girl rocks those wedges with the socks perfectly. The whole outfit is very cool. Love the skirt with the jacket.
The proportions of the shirt-socks-shoes mix here are just perfect. Not sure about the purse–it’s kind of matronly, and not in a creating-interesting-tension kinda way–and those big dark-framed glasses are starting to give me serious late-eighties flashbacks. But the look as a whole is still pretty terrific!
This is preposterous. The skirt needs to be a millimeter shorter, for one (this is unquestionably a faux pas, think Prada Fall/WInter ’99). The glasses are too dark: they would better suit her in a lighter tone, or gone altogether! As for the socks everyone is referring to, they must be the only tasteful piece of clothing she adorned.
And the bag, the bag! What is with these suitcases?
The wedges are interesting, however the white laces are a detail that is poor taste, a magenta or bright neon pink would have better suited the overall look. Also, I would have liked to have seen the jacket tailored to fit, she looks as though she could just as soon base jump as walk the street in that baggy mess.
Wonderful composition, though I would have perhaps waited for a flock of birds in the background, or some bustle, some noise.
The outfit is fantastic, the woman, beautiful. The glasses? Ugh! I am a former optician who spent 12 years in the nineties and into the 2000′s getting people, or should I say convincing people, SOMETIMES FOR HOURS that they needed to switch to a more flattering less “Size of the Empire State Building” sized frames. The eyes should be right in the center of a frame, not at the top. You can wear a shape like this, but for God’s sake get the sizing correct. These terribly sized frames take away from her entire outfit. Too bad.
