I have not seen combat pants for a while and what a great combination with the top. This woman has great effortless style.

Love the touch of the elegant fur with the camo pants and sneakers. All very different items but all together it somehow fits!

Photos like this make me really crave Paris. I went once in my youth, and wasn’t nearly old enough to appreciate it!

I love her outfit! I am growing young again coming back to your blog after a year Scott. I love the camouflage, the green trim on her sneakers, her layered tops and the vintage fur. Not too sure about the giant bag, but who know what she’s up to today? She may have a change of clothes and lunch in there.

I’m not a fan of this outfit and the pieces are something I’d never wear, but there is still something quite striking about this shot! Love the perspective and I’m so curious about what she’s looking at!

Something about the fur throws the whole look off for me. Perhaps I am not big fan of fur, for obvious reasons. Regardless, aesthetically, give Driving Miss Daisy her fur back and rock your look with a little more edge.

I had to really ponder this shot and go over this outfit. I think I could get into it if the shoes were different. Be it a rugged boot (like a Blundstone), or an elegant urban ankle boot with a heel …. purple suede comes to mind.

It’s the sneaker. I just can’t get my head around the sneaker.

This look reminds me of what my best friend & I did in High School for one week. Just grab the first thing you saw in the morning & put it on – no don’t think it inspiring, chic, etc. etc. Just drab and pedestrian.

i love everything about this outfit! but the green details on her sneakers make it absolutely perfect.

  54. Syrie

    April 7, 2013 at 12:52 pm

The sneakers don’t do this outfit any good, and I don’t think the jacket works either. I question whether this lady was actually trying to be “put together,” instead of just throwing stuff on when she went out the door.

    • Twinsissa

      April 7, 2013 at 6:47 pm

I was thinking maybe she just threw on the coat just before leaving the house just because she needed a coat. I can’t decide if it looks intentional though or like she really just hurried to get dressed and grabbed anything.

      • Martine

        April 7, 2013 at 11:28 pm

She is very thought out looking. No one would every think she just threw that on. And the high low of the outfit works to perfection. Everything is tidy and wonderful down to the roll of her pants. Only someone that didn’t know much about fashion these days would question that.

      • Martine

        April 7, 2013 at 11:33 pm

Not to mention that if you are cold you DO NOT roll up your jeans and go with naked ankles. Think.

  55. Jaye

    April 7, 2013 at 10:54 pm

Makes me think of a Karl Lagerfeld quote where he said that fur should be used like a cheap, knitted rag that is just thrown on. Love the nonchalance of this look.

If she took the fur off, she would look great!

  57. DL

There’s too much of an effort involved in this, which is not exactly what good casual style is about.

I’m not sure if I’d shoot her for my blog ..I mean yes the outfit looks different, but is it nice…? It would have been better if the fur was darker or the light green darker. It just doesn’t seem right now in my opinion.

I haven’t dropped in for over a year – have we not got over the mismatched thrift store look yet!? What about scale? What about colour. I’m tired of all this symbolism gone wrong.

    • Name*

      April 10, 2013 at 1:49 pm

Symbolism? What symbolism? This look is all about beautiful scale and color combo. I would not call that beautiful fur coat “thrift store” either. And NO. Matching high end and low end things will never go out of style. Its always been a good idea and so it shall remain. Plenty of people like it, even if you don’t.

    • Orey

      April 24, 2013 at 1:46 pm

Nothing wrong with the “mismatched thrift store” look. You’re talking about it as if it was a trend but for some people it’s just a reflection of their attitude – whatever. Can you imagine that some people just wear whatever they actually like without overthinking it and trying to fit in? It’s great if one has their own style, especially if it fights the norm, because otherwise this world would be a rather dull place.

  71. Diego

    April 11, 2013 at 7:20 am

Regarding the outfit, I have to admit Japanese people mix totally different items in a very fashionable way. Who would mix a fur, a pair of trainers and combat pants with success?

I love tennis sneakers. In our blog today we talk about other pair of tennis shoes.

  72. Lavender Loafers

    April 16, 2013 at 8:13 pm

I have to say she made it perfect. I even couldn’t dare to mix fur with sneakers and combat pants. Effortless style but its really fabulous.

  73. Lena

    April 24, 2013 at 1:34 pm

Love this look. Big ups to all gals wearing camo pants! They’re a great urban element. It just makes me laugh thinking of fashion snobs shuddering upon seeing outfits like this. Let go, people!
