I particularly love his ensemble. Handsome and good looking to boot. What can I say about khaki and navy, especially in Firenze; you can’t go wrong. The accessories just finished his look beautifully.
Delightful simplicity: the crisp trench coat and shirt, the nice texture and shine added by the two kinds of leather with the gloves and bags, the perfectly slim tie. How I wish I was a man sometimes!
Navy + khaki works well. Navy is cooler and khaki is warmer.
About his face: To me, his expression is neutral, thoughtful, inquisitive. Perhaps hesitant, but not unhappy. I’m perplexed by the comments that he should be happier or that he is making a face.
I’ve written some honest comments at The Sartorialist that weren’t published, perhaps because they were deemed insulting. But, to imply that someone is making a face (regarding a normal expression) is much worse!
Must we smile all the time else be deemed unhappy or odd?
He looks sad… but this gives him something that makes you ask yourself what is behind this look !!!

What makes this photo interesting – style wise – is the details: the leather gloves and the handle of the bag. He knows how to wear his clothes to flatter his skin-tone. Other than that, what’s wrong with the sour-puss pause?

I love that he’s wearing the same gloves and cap in this shot: http://www.thesartorialist.com/photos/on-the-street-blue-florence/
for a completely different look. The perfect example of enduring style over fashion. He seems to love a sense of controlled drama in his look.
I love the khaki and navy combination. It seems like navy is turnign up with almost every color this season; navy and yellow, navy and orange, navy and fushia, navy and coral…on and on. I never wore a lot of navy, but that has definitely CHANGED this season! Great photo.
So very very Charleston…should we ever have a winter again. We live for khaki and blue! After all, we are the home of Ben Silver and Company! Come see us!
