Looks like the bag is really over sized .. Person w/bag … Or … Is a bag w/a person? A scale issue … The bag detracts. Yes? No?

For me this is the point! There is a wonderful mix of comedy and seriousness here. The humour comes from the unexpected but effective scale – which is not just on account of the bag, hair, coat and trousers contribute too. The seriousness from her facial expression.

I love that she is so modern and masculine, but her silhouette is defined by a giant granny purse…

I did wonder, but went with the feminine because I hate using ‘he/she’ thing, I find it clumsy. I would think ‘she’ on a reflex about this person – man or woman.

It’s totally a style element. It has the shape of a ganny’s tiny purse, but it’s made into a messenger bag. So cool. Very Margiela in spirit, at least. Loving the fact that it’s (probably?) a guy.

You know what? I think EVERY picture with someone dressed in overall navy is awsome. I just love navy. Anyone else has that impulse? Just whatever the shape, the style, navy just makes things look nice.

Agree — everything looks good with that super-dark navy…love the coat and striped scarf, but also, and especially, his face and hands.

    Is it a man? Ridiculous!
Is it a woman? Old lady going to church meeting.

Agreed sweet bag, I wouldn’t have ever thought of pairing a bag like that with the oversized coat and wide leg jeans. Truely an individual structured style which comes together perfectly.

The shoes are a complete disgrace – compared to the rest of the outfit. Some nice brogues would definitely have helped polish this look.

The bag is hilarious and brilliant. A giant granny clasp bag. Totally not getting the filthy sneaks with this ensemble. I saw an Asian woman at the local super market wearing a really tailored thin wale corduroy trench and a pair of terrific platform high heel shearling boots and climbing into her Mercedes. Put the other suburban moms to shame….including me.

The pant bottoms dragging on the ground doesn’t work for me. It may be a Look, but those pant bottoms are going to be pretty gross at the end of the day.

This has got to be one of my favourite photos in a while. It’s just as well that it hasn’t gathered that many comments (some of which are negative anyway) – what can you even say in support?
I am in total support of the comfortable sneakers. And then it’s not just about the bag, it’s a matter of proportion and definition. He just… is. No questions asked. I think it all works.
