Love it! I have white flat sneaks for wearing with my dresses, but always feel a little weird wearing them. She makes it looks so effortless and beautiful, I think I’ll just pretend I am her from now on :)
Great look and so feminine! Love the broderie Anglaise dress paired with more utilitarian sneakers…adds great balance and makes it quirky, but refined. The touch of color from the clutch is also right on trend for styling white pieces! The loose braid is also an awesome touch, but the BEST part is her pose!
hmm… my first reaction was actually – who sits on a bike like that?? and how do you even ride a bike with such a big clutch?? The only time I’ve sat on a bike like that is when I was little and my friend would give me rides that way on bikes w/o a backseat or spokes things that came out of the back wheels to stand on… I dunno… she/the photo is beautiful and all… but I can’t get past those two first thoughts to really enjoy this scenery =P
Dude… I totally agree. This photo is beautiful but looks 100% staged as the bike is brand-new shiny, nary a windswept hair, and that clutch? What? Even the idea that she would hang the strap from her handlebars is impossible as it would continually hit her in the knees (which isn’t just silly- it’s actually super dangerous!). Won’t even bring up the helmet.
To Kate who said it was their dream to ride a bike “side-saddle”… That’s not a real thing- much less when you’re alone, in a white dress carrying a huge clutch. At least she’s not wearing sandals.
I ride daily (on Hudson!!! which is an insane street to ride!!!) and take it as a challenge to look chic while being dressed appropriately for my activity level. It’s possible (and safer and more practical, etc, etc, etc).
I always say, the beauty of NYC is not the buildings or the landscape, the beauty is absolutely the people and their energy. So lovely NYC in the dirty, trash-filled streets and you do not even notice. Just a wonderful scene.
