This has to be one of my favourite posts so far!
Would love to know more about this little girl.
What’s the story behind her sweet outfit? Where did it come from? Is it a special day? Or this is how she always dresses?

    Lovely post!

I studied abroad in Hong Kong three years ago and was over all disappointed to the lack of style (as a whole). But every now and then you come across unexpected gems and it looks like you are finding them! This young lady could easily be unnoticed but I’m happy you spotted her! She looks great.

I absolutely love young streetstyle. It’s so interesting to see how parents dress their children or how they dress themselves (in these cases, you never really know who’s the real stylist, do you?)

I have been viewing this site for years and never commented, but I absoloutely love this ! The girl is dressed like a young spunky ball of cuteness. There are not undertones of being sexy, or styled by her fashionista mother. Its a great look and I would love to see more little girls dressed fun and appropriate ! It leads to wonders when they grow up. You go girl.

I’ve been following your site for years but I’ve never posted on it though I check almost every day. I’m posting today because I’ve lived in Hong Kong for the past 5 years and it’s delightful to see a slice of the city through your eyes. Also, I had a little something to contribute about this picture. The picture was taken at the start of Wyndham St, just where Hollywood Rd ends. This area is full of bars and restaurants and right in the thick of downtown HK. However, in the building to the little girl’s left (which you cant see in the picture) is Hosseni House which houses a mosque for Bohra Muslims. So one often sees members of this community dressed in their interesting, colorful, traditional clothes. I love this juxtaposition of the traditional and the contemporary in this madhouse of a city (and in other great cities around the world).

I have been reading this blog for over two years now and love it!
Since a lot of people are asking about this outfit here is a background- there is a community in India called ” Bohras” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dawoodi_Bohra) and this is the dress young girls wear to the mosque and religious functions. The outfit is called jabla (tunic) izar (pants) As a young girl I loved wearing this and they are always in lovely colours with very nice detailing.
