How does that length of rope manage to be one of the coolest accesories ever? This is a lovely look- it's simple, but she's so young and slight and pretty that she doesn't need anything lavish. Also, her bag is great.
It definitely gets tiring seeing women always in denim shorts during the summer. It's nice to see ladies that wear dresses. Plus, this one looks fabulous! I love the dress. It's such a nice outfit for dog walking!
i just cant stop looking at every detail in this image. it's so full of everything, the hair the smile, the fact that those glasses actauly suit her, the dress shape the pattern is amazing, the bag i love her arms THE LEASH her legs the dog. this is one of the most visually satisfying image i have seen here in a very long time!
You have to give some credit to the YSL folks, you keep seeing their handbags over and over, and it seems like people wear them to threads! Great look, I agree I like the rope for the dog! Jorge from WPB
i've hardly seen any nyc women in cutoff denim shorts during this heat wave. we're in dresses, skirts, anything light. i'm not sure where you are seeing all these denim shorts, but i don't care to be lumped in with them. give us some credit.
Word, Marie…lately I've been seeing nothing but little summer dresses and cute skirts. This woman is lovely, but her outfit is pretty much standard fare for most women in NYC when it's 95 degrees with 100% humidity! Anything else is just too clingy and hot.
I think this picture is brilliant. I love the dress and blue sandles (the pupp is adorable and all so stylish with his nautical leash :-)))). She looks very well put together. of course, having great legs helps!
What a gorgeous creature! But it looks as she might be difficult to manage. Look at those long legs made for running, the pent up energy, the elegant frame and taut musculature. High maintenance for sure.
Outfit's nothing to write home about, but I like these sorts of photographs where your attention's drawn to other things besides the clothes. Echoing everyone else in saying the young woman is beautiful. What really makes this photo for me is that wonderful dog's stance.
She's very pretty and the dress is lovely. But I disagree, there are many women wearing dresses and skirts this summer. Actually, I don't see denim shorts very often (unless we're talking about teenagers here) and don't understand why anyone would want to wear them in this heat and humidity…
well, they are aren;t flip flops (above), theyre thong sandals! wow, i love this pic. it looks like a "cheapy" dress ie. can get at HM, forever 21 (i swear ive seen it) but she makes it look so glam and fab!!
this pic is so refreshing! and I love the leash!! and for those of ya'll who are against the pinch collar..they are a must for large breed dogs and they aren't cruel at all. Pinch collars are actually the best collar/harness/anything you can use because they apply an even pressure around the neck. Still don't think so? try one on yourself. yes, I'm serious.
She reminds me Ines Rivero…Well,i love the Tong blues, i had one sandals like thats in summer 2006 but it was yellow, the must interessanting for me is her beauty, her hair, skin and legs perfectly waxed,She has style!!!and she know this!!! And whats about a bag?i saw is YSL?i need to know more!:) (im professional beautcian)
Well, actually…the best 'fashion' bit in this picture is the rope she uses for her dog instead of just a thin leash…so original. If I ever get a dog, I'm gonna use a rope too. Thanks for posting this pic on the blog. Very inspiring.
I'm a NYer and I have to add the above comments and say that I am NOT seeing a lot of denim cutoffs on the streets this summer. I mostly see cheap, cute dresses like this one and sandals like those (they're not flip flops, but you see a lot of those too) but you don't normally see a beauty of a dog on a leash like that with a choke collar. NOT.CHIC.AT.ALL.
Yeah, her sandals are from the Gap, I recognized them immediately. I have them in mustard yellow. They're suede and very comfy. Really wanted the cobalt blue ones but I'm sure they're all sold out now. :( Great pic, Sart!
The rope leash strikes a sour note for me. I know from experience that they are unwieldy and uncomfortable to handle, especially in the heat. For some dogs a prong collar is the kindest tool available but, like most corrective tools, its effectiveness is entirely dependent on the skill of the handler. Having added my bit of fuel to that fire I have to say that I ove this shot. Very Summer in the City. She and the dog look cool and collected and well put together.
Flat sandals are popular because they're comfortable. The fact that you find them unflattering is the result of a visual habit that I don't think is very hard to change (I used to have it too). A lot of people are used to seeing legs artificially lengthened by high heels as 'normal' and legs on flats as 'short', when the latter are obviously what we _should_ find normal.
I just discovered your blog for myself yesterday. I had heard about it before from my sister and also from a magazine article I had read about it, about a year ago, but I had never visited it for myself before. I went looking around your blog and I have to say this is one of my favorites. The young lady is beautiful and fashionable. The dog is great and the leash, as many people have noted, adds a special charm to the photograph. A rustic feeling, I think. I love this photograph!
It's the Leash that got me – and the brilliant pose of that dog…Very stylish girl in a not very stylish dress…sorry. I saw this on Habitually Chic and reposted it on my blog just to promote dog adoption, very cool.
She is very pretty and I like her look. It's funny that everyone loves her leash… I'm pretty sure its just a lead rope for horses. I have horses and dogs and I've been using leadlines as leashes for years. This one isn't as heavy, but it's basically the same thing.
Fantastic shot, makes me long for the Australian summer as we're just in the last stages of winter. The dog is a Rhodesian Ridgeback, slighter than you would normally find (I've grown up with ridgebacks). For anyone interested, Australian high street brand Country Road did a version of those sandals last summer in patent leather, black and silver and silver and watermelon. I have them in the black, they are so comfortable and versatile! Great work Scott.
This beautifully rustic and stylish LEASH is actually made for an animal rescue charity that supports adoption. You can purchase the leash, in numerous color choices, with 25% proceeds going to animal rescue work:
